Tried it with adding the line you suggested (don’t know where in the order it should be)…did not work…to bad. Let’s hope the 2024 version comes out soon.

I believe it's been said on the PMDG DC-6 Forum that they are only going to get it to work in FS2024. No changes or additions, such as startup smoke, from the FS2020 model.

I tried this in FS2024 and it did not work for me. I edited the exterior model xml file, but still no luck.

Thank you for any more development time you put into making this work in FS2024.

Thanks for adding some hard needed smoke to the Six!

As a suggestion, would it be possible to couple the smoke to the engine oil temps. Meaning more smoke when it's colder outside (oil temp is at ambient temp at start) and then slowly dissapearing when the oil heats up? Once the engines are warmed up, the smoke would disappear and not effect framerates.

Was always impressed when seeing that startup smoke when sitting in 4-radial engine airliner!

So was glad to install this relevant addon... I think correctly

Now when starting engine 1 I can't see any smoke through the cockpit side window..

Have I anything missed?

Mod is Great. Loved watching the R2800s starting up in a cloud of smoke. Even bound the Boost, Mags ext to buttons so I could start them while in external view.

I would have giving 5 stars, however I've been getting CTDs like somebody else mentioned here. Crashes tend to be random; sometimes on loading, sometimes on the ground and can happen with any plane. Tried it with just the DC6 and the smoke mod in my Community folder but still got seemingly random CTDs. Every so often I could get through a session without a crash but rarely. Also worth noting, the crashes never happened during the actual DC6 engine start.

As soon as I removed the mod my system was stable again. Tried it many times with and without various other mods in the community folder but no success.

Please, if there is any simple fix u can think of let me know! I really miss it. Either way, thanks for the effort. Its greatly appreciated!
