    Bridges La Boca

The Nicolás Avellaneda bridge crosses the Matanza-Riachuelo River, linking the neighborhoods of La Boca, in the south of the City of Buenos Aires, and Isla Maciel, in the Municipality of Avellaneda. Its viaduct is part of the National Route A001. Opened on October 5, 1940. It consists simultaneously of a drawbar and a ferry bridge, which makes it the only one of its kind in the world. It was designed to replace the adjacent Nicolás Avellaneda Transborder Bridge.
