Description
This particular aircraft, N984TW (MSN 53634) was the last MD-80 built. It rolled off the assembly line at KLGB in 1999.
It was originally delivered to TWA, transferred to AAL in 2001 after the merger. Fittingly, it was also the airplane that flew the very last MD-80 passenger flight for AAL in Sep. 2019. AAL was the biggest operator of the MD-8X by a huge margin, with just short of 400 MD-81/82/83/87 passing through the fleet. The next largest operator was Delta, having flown 151 MD80 series in all, followed by TWA with 112 aircraft, and Alitalia with 90 aircraft.
Given the significance of this airplane, I have tried to give it a really accurate paint for MSFS. I spent a lot of time getting the weathering, placards, and logos exactly correct for the way she looked on the day of her last passenger flight. All original work, except for a few placards borrowed from the official AAL livery. I hope you enjoy!

Md-82 American Airlines (no mirror + 4K)
The american airlines livery for the md-82. Fly the Maddog X - addon for Microsoft Flight Simulator 2020. Fly the Maddog X is one of the most sophisticated and complex add-on ever developed for the MD-82, built after the McDonnel Douglas MD-80 series. Fly the Maddog X features advanced, study level aircraft systems that cannot be matched by any standard aircraft; it can be flown by following the operations manual of the real aircraft. We even encourage you to use such documentation to experience the level of detail that has been accomplished with this aircraft. Fly the Maddog X also features the undocumented intriguing details that real pilots experience when flying the real aircraft. NOTE: If you also own Fly The Maddog X for Prepar3D v4-v5 it should be updated to the latest version in order to work properly side-by-side the MSFS version.

Had the privilege of watching this exact plane takeoff from KDFW on her last flight to Chicago from Founders Plaza. The sound of her engines still lingers in my ears. She will truly be missed.
Great paintjob! Thanks for helping to keep the Maddog's spirit going! Long live the Maddog!

Absolutely love it, thank you! Would you consider doing a livery to show this plane in its TWA registration and colors? If it ever had them... did it get delivered before or after their demise?

Thanks! The airplane was delivered to TWA in the Globe livery. They named it "The Spirit of Long Beach". I will think about doing that paint at some point.
