“I love the smell of 100 low lead and Defoliant in the morning.”

I'm brand spanking new to aircraft development so, keep in mind, this project is very much a work in progress. I chose the Grumman G164-B because it has personal significance to me. My dad was an ag pilot for 30+ years and he owned and operated a G164-A for a portion of that time.
It's a completely native, hand-crafted model that I worked on for quite a while. It's obviously is not a true 1:1 representation of the real thing because, frankly, finding online reference resources for an Ag Cat is pretty challenging. The main intent of this project was to learn the ins and outs of development from the ground up, so you'll notice there is a great deal of detailing and features that need to be added/tweaked. I do intend to revisit this project and iron out such details in the future.
I would greatly appreciate any constructive criticism from anyone who has any to offer!
Special thanks to Jonx, Technotech, Hanger 713, and all the fine folks at the FS2 discord server for the tips and tricks that helped get me off the ground!
Also, a huge thanks to everyone who has downloaded and given feedback on this aircraft's performace!
Features:
- Animated exterior.
- Animated interior.
- Animated agricultural spray effect.
- Working cockpit (some features like elevator trim control and spray system controls to be added later).
Special instructions:
- The spray effect is linked to the aircraft flaps so you’ll need to map RETRACT FLAPS and EXTEND FLAPS to a convenient location on your peripheral of choice. EXTEND FLAPS will turn the spray on, RETRACT FLAPS turns it off.
Install instructions:
- Unzip the downloaded file to any location on your PC
- Remove any older versions of this aircraft from your community folder.
- Copy and paste the “krcustoms-g164b” and “krcustoms-boom-spray" folders into your community folder.

Nice move, but for a good spray we have to wait until MSFS2024 unfortunately...

It's great to be back in the cockpit doing back n' forths over the fields. I thank you for your effort at bringing this aircraft to VR. While this is a beautiful rendition of the 'Cat, there are a few issues that need resolving.
Missing cockpit controls
(1) The floor mounted "Money Handle" lever mounted next to the pilot's left knee.
(2) The emergency dump handle lever mounted forward and slightly to the right of the money handle.
(3) The fuel gauge on the cat is a float activated, dial type gauge mounted on the underside of the the wing in the center of the fuel tank.
(4) A small pump brake lever needs to be located on the right side of the cockpit next to the pilot's hip. The pump brake stops the pump during ferrying.
(5) A pump pressure gauge needs to replace the fuel gauge or alternatively, it should be a smaller gauge located on the upper left side, above the instrument panel. This should jump instantly to around 30PSI when the pump brake is released.
(6) The airspeed and VSI should be replaced by the far more critical RPM and presently missing MAP gauge. Throttle controls manifold pressure and prop controls RPM. One is useless without the other. The VSI should be eliminated as these are almost never found in an ag plane cockpit. Ag pilots seldom look at fuel guages or flight instrumets. The older style, military airspeed would be nice to see.
A somewhat dirty cockpit would be nice to make the pilot feel more at home, as would visible framing members when one looks downward. The Ag Cat had no floorboard.
Last would be the dirty yellow seat cushion, stained brown by the chemical on the pilot's boots from his stepping on it to enter the aircraft.
Well it's time to put out another load - CLEAR PROP!

Can't tell you how much I appreciate how specific your comments are! My hopes are to revisit this plane within the year and completely overhaul to provide a much more realistic experience.

its absolutely brilliant!

Its really annoying when creators put their name infront of the name of the airplane so you have to scroll through it all to find the file. Just have the name of the aircraft first, then your name, no one is going to remember it.

I’m not sure I catch your meaning. What are you having to scroll through?

I love it, what a lot of fun. You are doing so well. There are some issues in VR but it does not prevent flying.
The instrument panel seems to be floating on it's own.
Keep going.

I really need to get set up for VR! I hate that I’m not able to troubleshoot any issues related to that. I’ll get there eventually though...
