Dear Flight Simmers,
I am pleased to announce that Campbell Airport has been updated for Microsoft Flight Simulator 2024. This little scenery project had been neglected for some time due to a DX12 bug that rendered it a buggy mess and caused CTDs for some users. However, Campbell Airport has been completely redone from scratch using the new 2024 SDK to ensure reliability. All models have been reworked, optimized and exported using the new 2024 SDK tools. I hope you enjoy this small but painstakingly detailed airport. At this time, I am not planning 2020 compatibility due to the time consuming nature of scenery development, especially a free one at that. DESCRIPTION
Campbell Airport is a small little non towered airport 40 miles north of Chicago in the Village of Grayslake, Illinois. It is a good departure point for VFR flying along Lake Michigan down to Chicago. Neary by airports are O'hare Airport, Chicago Executive Airport, Waukegan National Airport.
- Custom made hangars, true to life.
- Custom open hangar start. (select GATE 6 start)
- Additional ramp starts located throughout the field.
- Custom night lighting.
- Corrected trees in glideslope.
- Custom runway elevation and slopes
- Custom animated moving trains along portions of Lake County
- Custom VFR obstruction such as Water Towers throughout the area
Installation: Unzip and place "campbell" folder into your community folder.
Tips:
- The open hangar is big enough to fit a C208
- The taxiways are true to life and are non standard in spacing and clearances, so caution taxing your plane.

Mine too, CTD, when entering the Chicago area, about 60nm south. Its this package, but can not say why. Please check package, and update!

This seems to be giving me CTD as well. I was flying just north of KLAN and the sim CTD (using DX12). I loaded up again at KLAN to resume my flight on stream (had to go to Standby on my Twitch stream). and it CTD above 3 minutes after takeoff. It is your scenery as I have troubleshot this for about 6-7 hours. Just wanted to let you know. I don't want to leave a rating.
Has nothing to do with my hardware (everything else works (over a thousand addons)

Great little airfield, looks really great.
Works perfectly, looks great
and is a great upgrade for the MSFS.
I especially like the many small details.
It is compatible with SU11,

Unfortunately, I too keep getting a CTD under DX12 when this addon is loaded. Can't really say why; it doesn't seem to make a lot of sense but it happens. Not loading the addon and with everything else loaded, no issues.
For what it's worth, here's my basic setup:
Ryzen 9 5900X, 32GB RAM, M.2 SSD, RTX2080 Super
MSFS running DX12, DLSS, most settings on High or Ultra

I have had a CTD on my own scenery as well. It took me a long time to troubleshoot, maybe this works for you. This scenery seems to work for others, and seems to CTD for some.
For me it was related to a missing manual cache file. Go to your manual cache and see..is it greyed out for you? If yes and are unable to set a manual cache, then that is perhaps the cause of the CTDs. See this video to solve it.
