Moved to MSFS 2024 but your favourite liveries are still stuck in 2020? Or want to keep flying a 2024‑only repaint back in 2020? MSFS Livery Converter does it for you automatically.

Just point it at a livery folder — the app detects which sim it was made for, converts every texture, config and manifest to the other version, and writes a ready‑to‑install package to a new folder. Your original files are never touched.

Unlike manual methods, the conversion is byte‑for‑byte lossless: textures keep their exact original quality (no re‑compression, no blurring), because the app repackages the image data directly instead of re‑encoding it.

How to use

Launch MSFS Livery Converter.
Pick the source livery folder (it tells you if it's a 2024 or 2020 package).
Confirm the direction and choose an output folder.
Click Convert livery — then drop the result into your Community folder.

⚠️I've released update 1.1 but it still needs work. Try it and let me know if there are any problems. But if you're having trouble with PMDG, it's because nothing has been done yet, so wait for it ⚠️

Tried it with liveries for the 737 Max 8 from MFS2024 to MSFS2020 did sadly not work, maybe I'm missing something. Thanks for the Tool, great idea!!

Actually, everything worked—from selecting the MSFS2020 liveries to the auto-detect feature for the MSFS2024 folder—but not a single livery is visible, even though they’re correctly stored in the Community folder. Unfortunately, I can’t give a good review under these circumstances. Just a quick note: I only tried it with Fenix liveries.

I tried a handful of liveries I couldn't part with from FS20, and it seems the actual file conversion worked, but the liveries are not visible in FS24. I'm sure it will get better with time, but as of the time of this post, it didn't work for me. I could very well be doing something wrong since others seem to be finding success.

I'm trying to convert some 2020 Liveries for the Citation Longitude C700 to 2024. I'm using AddonsLinker. After running the app and moving the converted Liveries to AddonLInker 2024 and enabled, they do not appear in Livery section in Sim. What am I doing wrong, or is this particular aircraft not supported?

Best one of these tools I've tried so far. Only obvious "gotcha" for Fenix liveries is that for wing tip fences instead of sharklets, one has to tweak the produced "livery.cfg" files to change the tags from "...,SL" to "...,WF" when converting from 2020 to 2024 (and then regenerate the `layout.json`). Otherwise they end up with the wrong wingtips. A319s also need the tags further adjusting to add "Cabin_A319_HD" or "..._SD" as well. I didn't try an A321 to see whether the ACTs play into, but they don't seem to be related to the UI selection mechanism so possibly not.

Running into at least one issue with my first livery conversion. Your converter wrote KTX2 files, but the Layout.jason file points to all of them as still DDS files. I manually edited the Layout.json file but cannot test yet as MSFS appears to be down with server issues (confirmed on Avsim).

And then, after I finished a paint job for FS24, the program keeps adding other things to the paint job and even overwrites it with one I did earlier, and then the new one is gone. This wasn't the case with the old program; now it's creating more work for me than before.

Why does it always add an "arcraft" tag with information about Focker 100? I have to delete it every time, and it also keeps replacing the display images. This wasn't the case in the previous version. Please fix this or tell me where I can download the earlier version.
