Description
GARealistic is a companion app that turns your MSFS GA flying into a complete aircraft ownership and pilot training simulation.
Every hour you fly costs money — fuel at the going rate, oil changes, tire wear, brake wear, engine time. Land hard enough and you'll crack a gear strut. Hammer the brakes on every rollout and the pads wear down. Push past the red line and the airframe pays for it. Leave the aircraft parked for months and the battery goes flat. Park overnight away from home base and you'll pay for it in the morning.
When components degrade far enough, the failures show up in the sim. Worn-out brakes fail. A neglected vacuum pump kills your attitude indicator. Run the engine ragged and watch the damage percent climb. Fix it at the repair shop — if the airport has a mechanic — and the failures clear.
Features:
- Full aircraft ownership cost tracking — fuel, maintenance, storage, insurance obligations, overnight away-from-base charges
- Component wear system with 30+ tracked parts, driven by your actual flying — hard landings, overspeed exceedances, brake abuse, crashes
- V-speed wear — sustained flight in the yellow arc (Vno–Vne) and above the red line degrades control surfaces, cables, engine, and airframe; uses your aircraft's registered V-speeds for precise tracking
- MSFS failure injection — degraded components cause real in-sim failures (brakes, vacuum pump, alternator, pitot, partial panel)
- Landing quality scoring with full per-touchdown breakdown — sink rate, G-force, bank, crab angle, runway, wind
- Jobs system — 8 job types generated based on your location: Charter, Cargo, Ferry, Training, Medevac, Sightseeing, Backcountry, Supplies. Pilot reputation system tracks your career across 5 tiers from Student Pilot to Elite Charter
- Flight grading — in-flight ACS evaluation for IFR approaches, holds, steep turns, slow flight, stalls, turns around a point, and S-turns; graded at Private, Instrument, Commercial, and ATP standards
- IFR currency tracking — approach and hold logging with 6-month rolling window; post-flight summary shows holds, approaches, and whether IFR currency requirements are met
- Achievements — six categories (Exploration, Dining & Recreation, Jobs, Flying, Landings, Discoveries) with six badge tiers from Bronze to Amethyst
- Pilot map — interactive flight path map showing every flight color-coded by type, with landing positions and activity markers at visited airports
- Financial summary — income vs. expense chart with selectable date ranges and net profit/loss tracking
- Pilot endorsement / credential checking — warns you at engine start if you lack a required qualification (Complex, High Performance, Pressurised, Multi-Engine, Tailwheel); auto-logs dual instruction notes when training toward an endorsement
- Live weather strip — ambient temperature, wind, visibility, QNH, and VFR/MVFR/IMC conditions label on the dashboard
- SimBrief integration for pre-flight briefing and post-flight comparison
- Multi-engine support with per-engine instrument monitoring
- Rental aircraft support — wet/dry tach rates, automatic rental billing
- Fleet management — register multiple aircraft across multiple home bases
- Destinations tab showing nearby airports with fuel prices, runway info, FBO/mechanic availability, activities, and dining. Heliport mode for helicopter operations
- Logbook with day/night/IFR hours, airborne vs Hobbs time, approach currency tracking (CSV import/export)
- Expense log with per-aircraft filter — view costs fleet-wide or drill into a single aircraft
- Deep integration with A2A Comanche and Black Square aircraft — reads their internal wear data directly and auto-logs repair expenses when you service them through their own tools
- Airframe-hours-based MTBF failures
- Preferred mechanic location — fly or taxi to the shop, or pay a call-out fee
- Turbine engine wear measures
- Google Earth KML export of flight tracks
- Working EFB App — Dashboard, Logbook, Endurance Calculator, and Training maneuver scoring in the MSFS 2024 in-sim EFB tablet
- Works with MSFS 2024 and MSFS 2020
This isn't a panel replacement or a checklist app. It's the ledger that makes every flight matter — because that engine overhaul is coming, and you're the one paying for it.
Planned additions:
- Unique airport fuel costs (currently randomised based on runway/ILS availability)
- Unique airport landing and parking fees (owned aircraft can specify hangar/tie-down costs)
Looking for feedback, comments, ideas, and bug reports.

Requires Microsoft Flight Simulator 2024 or 2020 to be running for live telemetry. The app will still open without MSFS and data can be managed manually. All data is stored locally in %APPDATA%\GARealistic.
GA Realistic
Every hour you fly costs money. GARealistic adds the full weight of aircraft ownership to MSFS — fuel bills, component wear from your actual flying habits, and real in-sim failures when you neglect maintenance. Work charter, cargo, medevac, and backcountry jobs to cover the costs, build a five-tier pilot reputation, grade your IFR approaches and ACS maneuvers against practical test standards, and track everything in a searchable logbook — with a live EFB tablet app for in-cockpit access. Works with MSFS 2024 and 2020.

I will have to look at 2020 database issue, thanks for the report - I focus in 2024.

For the jet fuel aircraft, ensure that the aircraft registration is set to jet fuel and not avgas

I have never used Neofly, so I can’t really say. The main purpose of this app is to simulate owning or renting an airplane and having to understand running costs and maintenance. Giving a little bit more purpose for General Aviation flying with $100 hamburger runs on a weekend, or the week long camping trip or vacation out of town. I have added jobs, from a user suggestion - however, there is no level system or need to progress to unlock anything. The app will prefer your own add on airports. Wear and tear injection on anny airplane (except A2A) is an objective and is being tuned. Ultimately, I never wanted a career app like APL I just wanted something to find a cool short flight between locations, and I wanted to learn how to build it myself. I am open to suggestions to add or improve the app, so if there is something you want/need let me know.

The old system (based on [FLTSIM.x) entries?) worked fine from user PoV.
I don't want to change the registration manually all the time.

In the new version, v0.9.4, I have added an option in settings to enable/disable this feature. Please let me know if you have any issues.

I'd be cool to auto-accept these expenses.
And I've seen "multipe registrations" in builds before 097. Not sure if they've been been in present in 097.

I will look into these issues.
