2025 AOPA sweepstakes Cessna 182A (full airplane package) - Image 1

    Description

This is the 2025 AOPA sweepstakes Cessna 182A with working avionics for MSFS2020. This is the full compiled and uncompiled file/folders for developers and users. Must have the PMS50 addon for the nav to work (https://pms50.com/msfs/). The free version of PMS50 is fine. VNAV will not work though. Here is a link for optional Air Manager panels (https://github.com/Normfly/Air-Manager.git) or I also uploaded panels to flightsim.to. Feel free to contact me for bugs or comments or suggestions. This is a full working airplane model, not just a livery. It's still a work in progress, but is coming out pretty cool. This has a GNC215 Nav/Com, 3 Garmin Gi-275's a ADI, HSI, and EIS with Garmin 500 autopilot with VNAV (with the PMS50 premium subscription). I tried to focus more on the Avionics and IFR characteristics than pretty airplane model stuff. The instruments were made using java script. This is the complete package I used to build this. So, if anyone needs a model to make or modify their own, I included them. Special thanks to Jonx Simulations and EzRyder youtube videos on how to make an airplane. And, a lot of copilot AI help.

There are popouts on all the instruments, even the non glass ones (IAS, TC, ALT, VSI, autopilot, and GTN650 bezel). So, you can build a panel on a separate monitor. Just hold right ALT and look for the +. I put them on the top left corners of the instruments.

    INSTALL INSTRUCTIONS (Normal)

If you just want to fly the airplane and not modify, just decompile the .zip and open Cessna182a\Packages\ (copy and paste "normware-cessna182a" into the Community folder.)

    INSTALL INSTRUCTIONS (Developer Mode)

    1) In MSFS2020 enable developer mode.

    2) Open Cessna182a.xml, Build and the airplane will show up. (You would have to build every time you want to fly it though. Unless, following the Normal instructions)

Are you going to work on the panel and smooth out the edges?
    normflyAuthor

That's kind of vague. What specifically do you want changed? I am trying to make it as close as possible. Try 1.4.0, and tell me what you think.

I guess I was refering to the glare shield. It does not seem smooth and has several sharp bends in it. The panel top edge does not seem to align well with the glare shield either.

I just uploaded a new 1.4.0. I updated the glareshield a few versions ago. Let me know if I missed something on it.

Your attention to detail is remarkable. I find I like your and Bagolu renditions better than the defaults. You seem to put "life" or give the airplane a "soul". It feels more adept to how the real airplane behaves. Thank you for your attention to detail and hard work.

Just found this:- https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=g7lkyXuup28 and it shows what a brilliant job you are doing in recreating the aircraft in its current state, awesome job - Thanks.

I've tried to get it as close as I can. It's a blast to fly.

Can't get over how you keep improving this lovely old lady of the skies, Thank you so much.
If at all possible some time in the future would it be possible to get the Summary Page on the EIS to remember the Totals. Sad I know but I flying this plane so much now, getting to grips with how different the avionics fit is compared to others I fly, it would be very much appreciated.

Ya, that should be relatively easy to do. Let me try and figure it out.

That was quick! If I could give you 6 stars I would

Thanks for sharing your work with the community. I have a request for the GI275; the heading bug is not synced between the ADI and the HSI; and the autopilot only sets the heading in de ADI and not the HSI. Can you fix this also ?
    normflyAuthor

That is actually how N4000D is setup. The ADI uses heading or track and the HSI is set to track only. If you set the autopilot to follow track instead of heading, then the HSI matches. It took me a while to get use to, but it kind of makes sense. The HSI is always in track this way, so you don't have to bracket to compensate for wind. The desired course is always straight up.

That's fine, but according to me both the ADI and HSI should show the same values. Take a look at this pilot's video: https://www.facebook.com/watch/?v=889785960274555&vanity=garminaviation
Start with heading 208 and then changed to 207, both are showing 208 and then 207 (and course is 200 in the HSI).

I just setup this to match the actual airplane. But, reading the Gi-275 manual, we might have a squawk on the airplane. If the magnetometer fails, the HSI reverts to TRK from the GPS. So, thanks. I'll have to bring that up with our avionics guy. I will change the model.

Thanks for your thoroughness and dedication; it is good to see that we agree. I hope everything works out with the N4000D. Looking forward to the update.

Anyway in a future update you can get the model to display the pilot avatars in exterior view?

If you have a free source for a 3d human/pilot model. Sure, I can include it.

    You can't use the default?

From what I can find is that I would need to create a whole new 3d model and texture and rig it. It's doable, but a big job. Unless I am wrong.
