    Majestic Software Dash 8 Q400

The acclaimed Dash 8 Q400 returns for Microsoft Flight Simulator with rebuilt visuals and Majestic's renowned systems simulation.

    About this project

The Majestic Software Dash 8 Q400 is an upcoming study-level turboprop airliner for Microsoft Flight Simulator. Based on the developer's highly regarded Prepar3D release, the new version combines Majestic's proprietary aircraft systems with extensive redevelopment for the modern simulator platform rather than serving as a direct port.

Although much of the original systems logic and flight dynamics has been retained, the aircraft is receiving a substantially reworked exterior model and a completely remodeled virtual cockpit. The development team has stated that most systems are already functional, with current efforts focused on integrating them into the new flight deck and preparing the aircraft for large-scale testing.

Majestic continues to rely on its proprietary flight dynamics and systems architecture rather than the default MSFS implementation, preserving the characteristics that made the original Q400 one of the most respected turboprop simulations available. The aircraft is planned for both Microsoft Flight Simulator 2020 and 2024.

Development remains a part-time effort, with the team emphasizing quality over release speed. While no release date has been announced, regular preview images and progress reports throughout 2025 and 2026 confirm that development is actively continuing.

    July 2026 Progression Update

    Fellow Sim Captains,

It has been a few months since our last update regarding the progress of the Q400, and yes an update has been long overdue. Our silence primarily has been due to busy schedules amidst work and other life priorities. That being said, the Q400 is progressing quite well for MSFS 2020& 2024 and we have been spending a lot of man hours re-working the exterior model which we mentioned in our last post, along with updating systems functionality in the flight deck which is coming along very well. Our focus is not only on the overall visual quality, but providing an equal balance for systems implementation and overall performance within the simulator. Final corrections are being conducted for the exterior model based on the real aircraft specs, and collaboration with some real world operators.

Additionally, our plans for completing the Dash 300 are still a part of the roadmap which will begin a few months after the Q400 release. The Q300 as mentioned will be complete rebuild for MSFS 2024 only

We are providing some images of the exterior model progression, and also a short video of the systems implementation.
All of the images and video provided are a work in progress, and modeling on the flightdeck has not begun.
