Esbjerg Airport sits about 9 km northeast of the town of Esbjerg on Denmark's west coast. It opened in 1971 and has a single 2,600 m runway, designated 08/26. Most of its traffic is offshore helicopter flights that carry crews to and from oil and gas platforms in the North Sea, which makes it one of the busiest helicopter airports in Denmark. Scheduled fixed-wing services run to Aberdeen, with additional connections to Stavanger, Den Helder and Groningen. A new scenery by Mr_Thomsen now recreates the airport for Microsoft Flight Simulator 2024.

The package is a complete rebuild of the airport rather than a small enhancement of the default layout. The terminal and control tower are modeled, including the illuminated Esbjerg sign. Most of the hangars are included as well, among them the Bel Air and NHV helicopter hangars, which come with solar panels and skylights. The fire station, radar and the other buildings around the airfield complete the surroundings.

Several buildings use interior-effect windows. Offices and rooms are shown with parallax textures, so they have visible depth when you look through the glass at close range. The apron and taxiway markings have been redone, and worn paint and ground detail keep the surfaces from looking too clean.

For instrument approaches, both runways have a working ILS. ILS 08 uses the identifier OO on 109.10, and ILS 26 uses ES on 110.15. The models are optimized and use several levels of detail to keep performance in check. The scenery is freeware.
