Los Roques Archipelago, located off the northern coast of Venezuela, is one of the Caribbean's most striking and remote destinations. The sprawling collection of coral atolls, white-sand cays, and shallow turquoise lagoons forms a national park that draws visitors from across the world, primarily accessible by light aircraft operating into Gran Roque's small airstrip. El Gran Roque Airport (SVRS) serves as the gateway to this protected wilderness, and its short, narrow runway reflects the intimate, general aviation character of the place. RRSimulations, who has previously released a full scenery package for SVRS on Flightsim.to, has now published a companion add-on that brings an updated runway to the airport, along with a GSX ground services profile. The new add-on is designed to work exclusively alongside the creator's original 🔗 Aeropuerto Los Roques SVRS scenery, which remains a required dependency.

The updated runway reflects real-world dimensions more accurately, stretching 1,311 metres in length and 24 metres in width — consistent with the constraints of the actual Gran Roque strip. Runway 07-25 now features edge lighting and threshold lighting, while runway 07 additionally receives a PAPI system to assist with visual approach guidance.

Beyond the runway itself, two small parking positions have been added near the hotel area of the airport, expanding the available ground layout in a way that better reflects the modest but real infrastructure at Gran Roque. The add-on also introduces a basic GSX ground services profile, giving users of Lorby-SI's popular GSX Level 2 tool a starting point for ground service coordination at the airport.

The add-on ships with two separate installation folders — one for Microsoft Flight Simulator 2020 and one for Microsoft Flight Simulator 2024. It is also important to note that the separately available Los Roques - La Orchila - Las Aves Coastline scenery is not compatible with RRSimulations' airport package, and users who have that installed should remove it before using this add-on.

The GSX profile is packaged separately within the download and can be installed either manually — by placing the contents into %AppData%\VirtualGSX\MSFS. This is a focused, practical update that builds meaningfully on an existing scenery rather than starting from scratch. If you already have RRSimulations' Los Roques airport installed, this companion add-on is a straightforward download that adds genuine value to the experience. As this is a freeware release, the add-on is available at no cost.
