Microsoft Flight Simulator has released its tenth city update, focusing on major urban centers across the United States. This City Update became available on April 22, 2025, and is free for all owners of Microsoft Flight Simulator and Microsoft Flight Simulator 2024. City Update 10: United States I focuses on five major metropolitan areas across the United States.

    What’s Included

You can now experience significantly improved renderings of Dallas and Fort Worth in Texas, Denver in Colorado, San Francisco in California, and Honolulu in Hawaii. For Dallas and Fort Worth, Texas, the update includes detailed representations of Dallas landmarks such as the 720-foot tall Fountain Place and the distinctive 561-foot Reunion Tower.

Known as the “Mile High City”, Denver’s update features accurate recreations of Republic Plaza and 1144 Fifteenth, set against the distinctive backdrop of the Rocky Mountains. The San Francisco update includes the city’s most recognizable landmarks, including the Golden Gate Bridge and Alcatraz Island, along with a detailed urban landscape that captures the city’s unique topography and architectural character.

Honolulu now integrates natural features such as Diamond Head and the Koʻolau Range with the urban skyline, creating a realistic representation of this tropical city.

City Update 10 utilizes the latest aerial and satellite imagery, digital elevation models (DEMs), and triangulated irregular network (TIN) surface texturing to create realistic city representations. The update is accessible across multiple platforms, including Xbox Series X|S, PC (via Xbox Game Pass, PC Game Pass, Windows, and Steam) and Xbox One. Given the large file size, you should ensure you have sufficient free space before initiating the download.

No update of Silicon Valley and Cupertino unfortunately. No Apple Park. Only central San Fransisco updated?

Denver didn’t update for me. No TIN as bridges is still solid mess. Others are fine.

Tbh the whole Bay Area needs an update since most of the data is from 2015-2019

I wouldn’t expect Microsoft Flight Simulator to prioritize a high-fidelity recreation of their competitor’s headquarters.

Still no indy. Indy looks like absolute buns in the game for me

Hawaii generates less buildings along waikiki shoreline. DFW looks a bit better but gates are disconnected from terminals

But at least it added some of the missing iconic hotels like the Ilikai. Even the condo lived at was there.

Flightbeam’s KDEN ground textures are blurry when the update is installed and are normal when I remove this update.

No changes to the /Hawaiian islands/Oahu/Honolulu terrain at least in MSFS2020. Also PHNL by inibuilds broken. Result? For me personally worse than before the update. Thats always bad…
