The FlyBoy Simulations PA-38 Tomahawk for Microsoft Flight Simulator is a highly detailed add-on that brings the classic two-seater trainer aircraft to life with great accuracy and realism. This model includes 15 paint schemes from various countries, including the UK, USA, France, Germany, and Australia, showcasing the aircraft's global popularity. Each livery is crafted with 8192 x 8192 PBR materials to ensure the highest possible texture detail and clarity.

The aircraft features a fully interactive virtual cockpit, complete with 3D-modeled instruments and detailed textures based on real-world reference photos. The cockpit includes dimmable instrument panel lighting and comprehensive IFR-capable avionics. Users can control various aircraft options and check flight information via a multi-function EFB tablet, which supports cold and dark, ready for take-off, and ready for start aircraft states. The EFB also offers features like automatic fuel tank switching, GPS unit selection, walkaround mode, and failure simulations, enhancing the immersive experience.

FlyBoy Simulations has included several custom-coded systems based on real-world manuals, such as a custom fuel system, electrical system with simulated circuit breakers, and functioning carburettor heat and primer controls. The aircraft's wear and tear mechanics affect over 15 components, which persist across flights and vary depending on how the aircraft is treated. This includes tire wear from firm landings or soft field operations, and various failures like spark plug fouling and vapour lock.

The sound package is MSFS-native, recorded from the real Lycoming O-235 engine, and includes detailed cockpit sound effects for switches, buttons, and levers. The flight dynamics are realistic and based on real-world performance data, including the Tomahawk’s renowned stall and spin characteristics. Custom effects for exhaust haze, windshield water effects, and wheel spray further enhance the realism.
