    Description

    The Tampere-Pirkkala Airport (EFTP) in Finland, about 160km north of Helsinki, is an international airport serving the region around the city of Tampere. This add-on brings the airport to life with custom buildings and objects, correct taxiway names and parking spots and much more. This new version is based on the previous EFTP scenery made by @kumihiiri but extensively redone and has lots of added custom buildings and objects.

    NOTE! Tested and working as such also in MSFS 2024.

    MAIN FEATURES
    • The civil side of the airport is true to real life, based on photographs and local knowledge
    • Most buildings on the civil side of the airport and other objects are custom modelled and extensively using PBR textures.
    • Runways, taxiways, aprons and markings have been enhanced
    • The taxiway network is complete, including markings and signs and correct taxiway names
    • A working fuel truck can be called through ground services
    • An animated gate between the B apron and the GA parking area opens automatically when you get close to it
    • Animated clocks on some buildings (showing the time set in the simulator)
    • Vegetation and heights have been adjusted on and around the airfield
    • The military side of the airport is modeled using MSFS default buildings and objects and based solely on satellite images

    Finally was able to test this airport. Very good :)

    FYI the Flight Obstacles Finland by @FISD is not available for download at the "useful addons webpage" . After clicking on that link it transfers to some new sim page/forum in Finnish language.

    Thanks for the heads up. There has been some development going on with regards the obstacles. The old version on fsnordic.net is no longer available, but @Tatu has made an entirely new and comprehensive version version for MSFS2024! The links and explanations are now updated on my Useful Add-Ons page!

    @WildLynxPilot so right now MSFS2020 does not have any obstacles addon available, only MSFS2024 does? I still play MSFS2020 only.

    Hello. Do you think you could create separate vesions for MSFS 2020 and MSFS2024? I'm afraid that in the future there will be updates which will eventually break it for MSFS2020 - for example this - Adjusted some apron textures to hide planes visible in the MSFS 2024 satellite image - I guess MSFS2020 does not have this issue, so it does not need apron texturs adjusted to cover up parts of bad "uncleared" sat image by Asobo. In other words this last update seems not necessary for MSFS2020, but unfortunately I no longer have the 2.03 version. So could you please upload the 2.03 as last MSFS2020 working version and 2.0.24 version is the first MSFS2024 version which you will update further for MSFS2024? Thank you :)

    The new version works equally well in MSFS2020. If you have the old version, then it is no need to update but if you don't then use this new version. The adjustments are just made to remove some minor quirks visible in MSFS2024 and they do not affect the scenery in MSFS2020 in any negative way. Making a separate version for MSFS2024 is a huge undertaking as every single model has to get LODs added and many other changes has to be done to the scenery. Maybe sometimes in the future...

    Juu olen sulle Discordissa pistänyt kaveri pyyntöä. Voin sieltä pistää kuvia. Dascherin terminaali on valmis ensi kuussa. jos käyn kentällä voin laittaa kuvia. kentällä on vaan hirveästi lunta nytten että en tiedä onko kuvista mitään hyötyä silloin.

    Few questions:
    In your recommended files list there is a 1) Finland Seamarks by @Tatu Seamarks and lighthouses along the entire Finnish coast (works together with the Finnish South Coast Lighthouses add-on available on this page) - it says it is in the owners recycle bin.
    2) You recommend using the Finland Airport Heightmaps (+DEM) by @Morko this in theory could break every other freeware/payware airport in Finland which uses default Asobo/MS Mesh/DEM correct?

    Hi.
    1) Thanks for pointing that out - the link is now corrected! (@Tatu has updated to e new version and the link has changed.)
    2) No, it does not break default Asobo/MS mesh, but improves it for the airport areas, and it is a real improvement. There may be conflict with some third party add-ons if they have their own DEM or terraforming included, but then it is easy to remove the EFxx.bgl files for those airports from the @Morko package. Those files are in the folder morko-dem-finland-heightmap-airports\scenery\heightmaps\finland

    No, EFHK should be OK and yes - it improves the DEM on and around all Finnish airports!
