Description
Nuclear Power Plant Grafenrheinfeld KKG
This is a landmark which I previously had added to the airfield EDFS in my "nearby Schweinfurt" series.
To keep my airfield packets lean and to be able to develop this landmark without dependencies to the airfield I decided to split it from EDFS.
So starting with EDFS version 3.0 it will not automatically be included.
The nuclear power plant has been shut down in June 2015 but you can still see it from up to 50km away.
At the moment the scenery it is a mix between MSFS autogen buildings, hand made cooling towers and hand made reactor building. Please don't expect so much details as in my airfields.
It's still for orientation and has room for improvement.
Known issues:
- Texture of concrete at KKG is transparent for beacon lights
- Side effects with "We Love VFR - Region 1". I've added some exclusion rectangles to prevent doubled chimneys and cooling towers. But I'm sorry, your ..\LocalCache\content.xml" needs to be edited too. Please follow instructions in the FAQ at "We Love VFR - Region 1" page.
Please see also my "nearby Schweinfurt" series:
EDFJ - Lager Hammelburg
EDFS - Schweinfurt Süd
EDK0 - Am Himmelreich Bad Königshofen
EDFW - Würzburg Schenkenturm
EDKOL - Herleshof Kolitzheim
EDSD - Am Kreuzberg Saal, Saale
EDQT - Verkehrslandeplatz Haßfurt
More far away:
KWG - Nuclear Power Plant Grohnde (much more details than here)
EDPE - Eichstätt
Installation:
Unzip and copy the folder "cr-kkg" into your Community folder.
If you migrate from a previous version please delete the old folder first

I actually work in the nuclear power plant Grohnde KWG, which is the same type, so to speak the sister plant, as KKG and I visited KKG several times.
As most of the buildings are the same, just in a different arrangement, would it be possible to build KWG as well?
As for the cloud - it looks different every day and on some dry warm days, you can‘t see it at all. So I wouldn't worry too much about that.

The textures are from the original plant, I'm living 6km east of KKG :-) so it was easy to get them.
You have convinced me, to do that in a quick and easy way.
But I need some days, because there were some changes in the new version of MSFS. They force me to solve some issues at my two airports first.

The first one is an important landmark for the eastern approach to Munich airport.

Regarding to the request of Ohu and Gundremmingen:
It would be possible to do that without a big effort in the same way as KKG.
But those two nuclear power plants are actually on-line. So it will be difficult to implement the clouds produced by the cooling towers. And the most difficult thing (for me) would be that they act as a gigantic windsock.
I am scared about that a static cloud won't be accepted by the community.
So I'll have a look to this topic. If I have an idea how to do that, the two plants will be realized in mid term.

When it comes to the community the solution is simple: make two versions - with and without cloud and let the people decide for themselves whether prefer a stationary cloud or none at all.
