Description
For those of you who don't speak Russian and are bothered by the fact that you can't read the inscriptions under the instruments, I've made an English translation. Using this will translate into English the inscriptions that vary from country to country on the original aircraft. This means, for example, that the language of the radio and other auxiliary equipment will remain Russian. They can be translated later if required.
Installation:
- copy back your original russian textures (that you backed up earlier...I hope, at least :-D) into his original place
MS Store version:
...\MSFS2020\Official\OneStore\microsoft-aircraft-antonov2\SimObjects\Airplanes\Microsoft_Antonov2_Wheels\texture.base\
Steam version:
...\MSFS2020\Packages\Official\Steam\microsoft-aircraft-antonov2\SimObjects\Airplanes\Microsoft_Antonov2_Wheels\texture.base\
- unpack and copy my files into your 'Community' folder.
Attention!
After installation, all original Asobo paint versions will become English! The translation does not necessarily affect the repaints downloaded and installed afterwards!
Quick note:
Because of MSFS directory prioritising, folder name renamed with 'ZZZ_' in order to automically override any existing textures in any livery.
Credits:
A big thanks and all credits goes to @AdamskiNZ who arranged my files to the Community folder-compatibility.

It uses generic MSFS systems, with some limitations compared to the real aircraft, and requires the T-6 Texan (Reno Air Race Expansion) for engine sounds. Thank you for this...I was waiting for this mod before I flew the Colt...now just starting. Did find a 3rd party livery that the mod does not change the labels...they stay in Russan. It's the Aeroflot-32338 livery. Only add-on livery I'm using at the moment as it's for the float version. Thanks for your help.

On the repaint you mentioned, the cockpit texts remain in Russian because the author included these Russian cockpit textures, so they are given priority. Sorry.

so thankful i found this. no way i was going to reference a flight manual all the time to find switches. they blew it by not adding a switch to toggle to English. Thank you!!

Very grateful for this! I'm loving the AN-2 but the English translations make the experience so much easier to get into this quirky airplane!

Just a quick note to people using the "Community" style version. If you'd like to have English translations for other liveries that have their own language texture files, then rename the corresponding textures. Providing the Community version of this addon is active (I use Linker) then you should see English labels.
CORRECTION (after further testing): for this to work with other liveries, you need to actually delete the existing texture files (and .json files) then rebuild/recreate the layout.json file. Be sure to back up those files in case you don't have the original downloaded archive.
