For my 10th project, I've recreated a real-life replica of the Metlika airfield in south-eastern Slovenia (Bela krajina). For the first time, I've implemented 4 Level Of Details for nearly all objects, boosting the performance significantly. LODs distances are benchmarked for VR.
Aeroclub Bela krajina was founded on December 13, 1975. Until 1993 the club sought to find a suitable location for the airport until it was settled near the village of Prilozje and the runway was built. The following year the hangar was erected. The Club is involved in the training of ultra-light aircraft, gliders, and motor pilots, and organizes air transfers and panoramic flights over Bela krajina.
The official status of the Airport is a landing strip (fictional ICAO - LJCR default in the sim) as it does not yet meet all the conditions.
Features:
- Runway: 04/22, 550m×25m (1804ft x 82ft)
- Elevation: 168m / 551ft
- 4x levels of LOD (optimized for VR)
- Reworked grass, trees, and improved surroundings
- All the buildings are custom modeled as in RL
Installation:
Unzip the download and drag&drop the folder into your community folder!
Thanks to everyone who contributed by gathering material and giving suggestions. The main data for textures were obtained by myself, online references were used too. The build was tested and reviewed for VR with good fps results (i7 8700, rtx3080, 32Gb, Reverb G2).

FANTASTIC! Neptune you will be part of a development team very soon if you keep this quality up, I remember Serio Del Rosso putting out similar quality work and he now works for NZA Simulations.
I've featured Metlika, Celje and Konjice on my YouTube channel, grab and drink if you want to watch this episode as it is a long one. Hope you enjoy my video and keep up the excellent work!
