Iwo Jima RJAW Airport - Image 1

    Description

MSFS lacked this airport and others available were not compatible with Navigraph and they produced a double runway effect. This is my first attempt at designing an airport so please report any bugs and will do my best to address them. Currently I do not have taxiway signs. I'm a bit lost on where to place them so they are true to life and how to properly mark them. If you'd like to help out and add them to this reach out and I'll send you the scenery files.

While I tried to stay true to the actual layout of the airport based on google maps I did include a bit of WW2 memorial display. This scenenry is not even close to being an accurate representation of the airport owned and operated by the Japan Maritime Self-Defense Force as evident by US assets being stationed there.

Package contains all files needed to make it work. This was made possible by the great work from gsdovah, creator of the Ramstein AFB scenery and the other is Totof33120's Vintage aircraft library

E' bellissimo ma dovresti cambiare l'orientamento della la pista di un grado o due in modo da coprire la pista photoreal sottostante molto visibile sulla testata 07 che microsoft ha aggiunto con le nuove versioni del giappone.

It's a very nice scenery but unfortunately it causes a double runway issue when using navigraph.

I'll take a look at it when I have some time. I had this issue when I first worked on it but have since forgotten what the fix was. Thank you for bringing it to my attention.

Outstanding! Love the memorial concept, as well as all the animations making it feel less static. My only quark is, the cars, scrap the cars. There is way too many for such a remote island.

The idea is great, but as it's a Japanese base, it needs their planes, not American or European. Hope someone makes Japanese models. I miss MAIW.

Thank you for the feedback. You are correct it is now operated by the Japan Maritime Self-Defense Force. I thought I included this in the description. Had assets been available I would have used them. I had hoped a tribute to the brave men who flew during WW2 in the memorial display I included would show my appreciation for their service and claim to the island. All planes in the memorial were from the Pacific theater. If I included something from the Europe theater please point it out so it can be removed.

You did not use any European planes, I just pointed out that the scenery creators only have been making those.

So, this is a fictional representation, as there is no allied ww2 memorial at the actual base.

Correct, I thought I made that clear. Will read more closely what I wrote and if I didn't will reword what I said.

Added in taxiway markers. Learning a bit more about the scenery editor. Never noticed there was a way to generate the signs. Barring any bugs I'd say this is the last update for a while. Folder naming will remain the way it is now. Realized on 1.1 I had renamed the folder incorrectly.
