Volcano Tree Fix (global) - Image 1

    Description

MSFS 2024 Version: Main Download Button!
MSFS 2020 Version: Separate smaller Download Button. Version 2.3

This mod improves and/or removes vegetation on volcanos around the globe.
Now, not all volcanos ;). Only the ones I have improved so far. See the list below.
The improvements vary a lot. In some cases there is a huge improvement, in others rather minor changes.
Often it's the removal of trees that should not be there and also often turning huge trees into scrubs and bushes.

Unfortunately, the terrain data and satellite imagery is horrendous in many areas of the world. So there are lot’s of places I would like work on but there is simply no point with bad terrain resolution and often the lack of decent satellite imagery.

HOWEVER: If you find cool volcanos that have rather decent terrain data and good satellite imagery, but wrong trees (often way to many trees), then please send me name and coordinates of the volcano and I will try (no promises) to add it in a future version of this mod.

Many thanks for this addon and especially for keeping it up to date :-)

I have a request... I fly both MSFS 2020 and 2024. For the purpose of file management I use Addon Linker rather than placing addons in the respective Community folders. I keep similar addons (e.g. all my tree mods) in the same folder. However this creates a conflict when I want to use both '20 and '24 versions of this addon, as they share the same [folder] name. Would it be possible to add the suffix 2020 and 2024 to the respective folder names please? This small change would really help users to manage files, especially when updating. Many thanks.

Arenal in Costa Rica has some weird rocks on the top and on the sides any idea what could be the issue?

These rocks are automatically, randomly generated by MSFS2024.
I can try to remove them with the next update.
But unfortunatelly the Arenal Area does not look very good anyway. The terrain resolution there is very low.

I'm using 2020 not 2024, but thanks for the correction.

    This is amazing!!
Any plan to do Mt. Fuji in Japan for MSFS 2024? Not sure if it would need it or not but if so, I would love it!

Fuji is already correct as far as I can tell. I only fix thouse places who have too many trees on top for example. Fuji looks correct to me :)

My only wish is that someone would please post a global city update to remove trees instead of 100 1MB files lol - love that you do global in one file!

    Very nice!

I noticed this issue with Fuego and Pacaya in Guatemala if you get a chance to fix those!

Hi, Thanks for your quick update for 2024. Could you please have a look at Mount Teide and the Canadas on Tenerife? The whole area around Teide (canadas) are mostly volcanic wasteland in real life but are forested in MSFS2024 - even with your mod. Thanks very much :-)

Tried to improve Tenerife a bit in general in Version 3.1
But it needs further work. Unfortunatelly I have limited time at the moment.

understandable. In case you get to it I found that La Palma and Lanzerote also suffer from similar problems.

Super, un mod indispensable pour apprécier les volcans sur FS2024 ! Attention cependant, certaines hélistations de la réunion se retrouvent dans les arbres. :)

If I may suggest an approach from other addon creators. It is better to create new version for MSFS2024 and keep it as v 1.0 - this way it is much more clear what is what and you could also add it into your addon description. The choosing which sim should have the large button for download/update and which should have the lower smaller button is up to you :) I myself prefer the large button for MSFS2020, because I dont want to switch to the new sim in the foreseeable future :D Thanks

Thanks for your input. Yeah well there is different ways to look at it and it's all somewhat logical depending on the angle you look at it. But I agree it's all a bit confusing. In my eyes, Flightsim.to should help creators / users to make it more clear.
For me, I consider MSFS 2020 "legacy" now. Therefore the MAIN button is for MSFS 2024. The small additional one for MSFS 2020.
Regarding the versions numbers: Yeah I think about it. Some of my mods are just one version... so going from 1.0 to 1.0 also kinda is confusing.
I'll think about it. And also added it in the discription to make it more clear.

Treefix North Western Norway for MSFS2024

Treefix North Western Norway for MSFS2024

Treefix North Western Norway for MSFS2024 is designed to enhance the realism of the Møre and Romsdal region by correcting the auto-generated tree placements typical in VFR flying. This add-on removes inappropriate forest areas and introduces custom tree groups more accurately representing the areas rugged coastline and sparse vegetation. Additionally, it addresses mispositioned generic buildings while utilizing new biomes and rock functionalities for a more authentic visual experience.
