I am happy to finally release the first beta for my project UH-1 Huey !

This is still a Work In Progress

Thank you for downloading my mod UH-1C/B Huey Gunship, here are some things you need to know :

This is my first ever mod, so don't expect PMDG level stuff ;)
I decided to do this project myself because I couldn't wait any longer for someone to do it for me...
There are some bugs here and there.
Please, consider donating to help me get better assets for future releases.

Version 0.3 Now available !

ADDED UH-1B version
ADDED completely new exterior model for UH1C
ADDED completely new interior model (less useless polygons)
ADDED Upper panel
ADDED New collective, new Cyclic
ADDED Completely reworked liveries "Frog", "Big Train" & the new "Scorpions" for the B variant
FIXED Helis now have "working" skids
FIXED Archive file now in .zip format

Features :

Animated gauges (Most of them)
Animated sticks and collectives
Animated pedals (pilot only for now)
Interactive switches for exterior lightning
Exterior lightning
Custom exterior model of the UH-1C gunship
Custom interior model
Custom sounds
Two liveries available : UH-1C Huey "Frog" & "Big Train" both based on real aircrafts

You need the module AirlandFS from Fred Naar if you want to fly this helicopter, otherwise it will not take off

(it might...but like a plane) Please download the module here

Installation :

Unzip the archive " UH-1B&C Project by Taog44.zip"
Put the folder "taog-uh-1c-huey-gunship" and "taog-uh-1b-huey-gunship" in your community folder
In the main folder open the AirlandFS folder and find the file "airlandfs_UH-1BC.cfg" and Copy it
Go to your AirlandFS application folder and paste "airlandfs_UH-1BC.cfg" in the profiles folder
Start MSFS and start AirlandFS
Load the Huey ingame on any airport then load the profile in AirlandFS
Fly ;)

Known issues :

Not all gauges are animated (I'm still figuring things out).
Make sure to have parking brake set ON as the helicopter might roll on taxi and after landing.
Turn off your G-force settings in the assistance options (last row at the bottom) as somehow the sim seems to think you're flying the X-15...
Rotor stop time while shutting down engines is really fast
When turning on the lights, it might be needed to press L to reset them.
Cockpit lights are only available by pressing the cockpit lights button on keyboard or simply pressing L.
Addon Liveries will not work with new version 0.3
Please report issues via a personnal message and I will try to fix them :)

I really hope you will enjoy my humble work, as I said before, this is my first mod and I am learning by doing, so far it has been a blast !

I will keep updating this mod, any help is welcome, wether it is references, flight model, asset design, delivery design, coding I am open to your ideas :)

Mein Lieblingshelikopter - vielen Dank, dass ich die Huey nun auch in MSFS2020 fliegen kann. Und das bei einem megaschön detaillierten Modell, einem super Flugfeeling und einem irren, fetten Huey-Sound! Bitte den Sound von der Aussenansicht auch noch etwas basslastiger machen, aber das ist Mäkeln auf sehr hohem Niveau. Ich freue mich auf die Weiterentwicklung, herzlichen Dank!

After installing the previous one and being able to fly it only the first day, I installed this one, but this one did not let me fly it at any time, the controls did not respond. Comment that I use fsairland as required.

Flight starts at 500m and impossible to land.

The flight log says there are missing items from the config.

Checking the Airlands_UH-1bc.cfg there are missing items, the first being Parameter:atc_model

Another: ERROR - readConfigString - Invalid or missing value- section: [Simulation]- Parameter:mainRotorRigidity

Could we have an updated cfg please?

this is FANTASTIC! I flew this for a few hours yesterday on Alyson Johnson's Christmas flight. The handling is smooth, great for treetop flying and the SOUNDS... I love the sounds!

The cockpit is a little sparse as yet, but has the basics and definitely is a plus with the steam-gauge instruments which is a nice switch from the more modern helis.

I can't wait to see where this goes, but it's already a KEEPER in my mod folder!

Terrific!!! It already flies nicely imho, sounds great and has a cockpit that looks / feels the correct size in VR (a rare thing in MSFS)

Gotta Love this HUEY! A few minor tweaks and this baby will fly like it's full size cousin. If your next "H" model improves on this 0.2 version, you will indeed have raised the bar for MSFS Helicopters. I have them all, and although I admit the Huey is my favorite from my much younger days, it already flies Very well, not perfect, but none of them are, but still it flies Great, and that single rotor Sound is spot on and shouldn't be touched... Great work, donation coming..

I can Highly Recommend the Taog44 Huey, especially to those of you out there who may have actually flown the Huey, as I have. You will love it. The Only way to fly, low and slow.. enjoy the sights. 😊))

Such a nice helicopter to fly, the modeling is very good and the cockpit looks surprisingly good for a early version freeware. Very well done!

This is a really cool aircraft but when I land, often my gear or whatever it is called on helicopters sinks into the ground would be nice if this would get fixed

Found the problem with not flying correctly but I still think there are items missing in the config.

Update 7 has changed the Assistance Options which has defaulted most from OFF to ON. Select OFF many items under Piloting and Aircraft System. It now behaves correctly. Found solution for flying

This is my first helicopter in fs. I have waited for the Huey, bypassing the Airbus. I'm stoked, but can't get it working. I downloaded it and airland. I use addon linker and put those files into a folder and "activated" the link. I open FS. Open airland. Load in a flight. But airland says something about not finding a suitable helicopter and will close. Any tips?
