The airport is managed by the Air Force, the airport is classified as MOB (Main Operating Base) of the first group and as such carries out exclusively military activities, not being open to commercial traffic. The airport is known above all as the home of the Frecce Tricolori, the Italian national aerobatic team (PAN) and constituting the 313rd Acrobatic Training Group.
L'aeroporto è gestito dall'Aeronautica Militare, l'aeroporto è classificato come MOB (Main Operating Base) del primo gruppo e come tale effettua esclusivamente attività militari, non essendo aperto al traffico commerciale. L'aeroporto è noto soprattutto perché sede delle Frecce Tricolori, la pattuglia acrobatica nazionale (PAN) italiana e costituente il 313º Gruppo Addestramento Acrobatico.
