Red Flashlight Mod by Nerbulus, converted to drag+drop by HIGHMEMFIX1 on the forums at forums.flightsimulator.com
Notice: The original file is by Asobo and Microsoft, I do not take ownership of their original file in any way.
NOTE: You need to update to the latest version if you haven't already for this to work with SU8.
This mod changes JUST your flashlight (left Alt+L) to the more accurate red instead of white.
This is because real pilots IRL use red headlights that don't interfere with glare and also they don't have to adjust their eyes to a bright light.
INSTALLATION:
Now supports drag+drop thanks to HIGHMEMFIX1 on the forums!
Copy the folder "effects-redflashlight-nerbulus" to your Community folder and you're all set!
To uninstall, delete the folder from your community folder.
I hope you enjoy! Turn on your flashlight at night be pressing left Alt+L (by default). If you custom binded this function then only you know which key you bound it to.

Restart MSFS 2024 after installation. Also turn off auto flashlight in General - Camera - Flashlight settings. Alt + F to turn on and off.

Hello,
To revert back to default just uninstall the mod from your community folder (delete the folder). Hope this helps

Not working in version 1.26.5.0. Added folder to the community folder and the light is still white. Downloaded version 1.2
I did get it to work without adding to the community folder by backing up the original FLASHLIGHTMASK.TIF.DDS in the effects/texture folder in fs-base-effects-legacy folder in the Packages/Official/Steam folder and then overwriting that backed up file with your FLASHLIGHTMASK.TIF.DDS so it seems like wherever the folder is pointing is wrong for the STEAM version at least

What seems to be the issue? Is it installed but not showing a red light? Have you updated to the latest version?

It shows white light, and yes, I downloaded and installed the latest version. I found another red flashlight mod that works, but it's much dimmer than yours and I'd prefer to use yours if I can get it to work.
