About the Aircraft

Buhwal(부활; 復活; which means "resurrection" or "revival" in Korean) is the first domestically-developed aircraft of Republic of Korea. Republic of Korea Air Force Technical School led its development and the first flight conducted in october 1953. It was multi-porpose aircraft for liaison, observation and psychological warfare. The name "Buhwal" was given by president Syngman Rhee but the aircraft was transfered from ROK Air Force to a civil flight school in Daegu in 1960. In 2004, its fuselage frame was excavated from Kyeongsang Technical High School located in Daegu due to effort of Wonbok Lee, who was person in charge of the development. After excavation, ROK Air Force retrieved and restored the aircraft. The restoration project ended in october 2004. In 2011, Kyeongnam Technopark built two of improved model of Buhwal and presenting in airshows such as ADEX and Sacheon Airshow. Now restored Buhwal is exhibiting in National Museum of R.O.K. Air Force in Cheongju.

How to Install

Just unzip, then copy & paste "aerosolutionkorea-rokaf1007buhwal" folder into your Community folder.

Commnunity folder location:

(1) MS Store:
C:\User\(Username)\AppData\Local\Packages\Microsoft.FlightSimulator_8wekyb3d8bbwe\LocalCache\Packages\Community

(2) STEAM:

About the Addon

Don't forget there're manual and README file.

3D model of the aircraft is the one converted and tweaked from CFD model. Thus many details were skipped.

This addon is developed with many open-source software. Such as FreeCAD, Blender, LibreCAD, OpenFOAM, Inkscape, GIMP, Armorpaint and so on.

This addon intended to work in MSFS2020 originally. But it seems to work in MSFS2024 too.

Known bugs in MSFS 2024:

 - Wrong livery selected as default (Fixed after SU2)

 - No pilot avatar showing (Fixed after SU2)

R.O.K. Air Force No.1007 Buhwal-ho

Experience the R.O.K. Air Force No.1007 Buhwal-ho, the first domestically-developed aircraft from South Korea. Originally designed for multi-purpose roles including liaison and observation, this aircraft has a storied history, transitioning from military use to preservation in the National Museum of the R.O.K. Air Force. This add-on features a 3D model based on a converted CFD model, suitable for both MSFS2020 and MSFS2024 platforms. Installation requires copying the add-on folder into the Community directory of your flight simulator.
