Iran Air EP-IJA iniBuilds Airbus A330-200 RR  - 8K

This aircraft was ordered by Avianca Brazil and was serial number 1540. It made its first flight on 2014/06/02 with the test registration F-WWCQ and was supposed to be delivered to the company with the registration PR-OCL, but the company canceled the purchase of this aircraft due to financial problems and changes in its policies, and this cancellation caused the aircraft to be parked at the Airbus facility in Toulouse, France from June to December 2014.

With the change of ownership from Avianca to Airbus, this aircraft was transferred to Synergy Aerospace on 2015/01/12 and was transferred to Teruel Airport, Spain, a day later with the registration F-WXAJ and was stored there until Iran Air, in line with its contract to purchase 100 aircraft from Airbus, and considering the time-consuming nature of the production of the ordered aircraft and the urgent need for the aircraft, placed two Airbus 330s - including this aircraft - on its purchase list.

On 12/01/2017, the aircraft was transferred from Teruel Airport to Châteauroux Airport in France for a repaint. Nineteen days later, after the repaint was completed, it left this airport for Bordeaux Airport for final preparations and changes requested by Iran Air. After seventeen days, it arrived at Toulouse Airport (Airbus headquarters) on 17/02/2017 to be delivered to Iran Air representatives.

On 10/03/2017, the aircraft with the registration EP-IJA was officially delivered to the then CEO of Iran Air in Toulouse and arrived in the country the next morning [corresponding to 21 Esfand 1395].

This aircraft is the first Airbus 330 of Iran Airlines and the second aircraft out of 100 aircraft that Iran Air was supposed to purchase from Airbus with the help of the JCPOA and after years of sanctions.

The aircraft's seating configuration is C32Y206. In the Business class, the 1-2-1 arrangement of seats provides more privacy and comfort for passengers. The seats in this class have a 15-inch touchscreen, control panel, auxiliary lighting, USB connection and power outlet.

In the Economy class, the seats are configured in a 2-4-2 arrangement and passengers benefit from a personal entertainment system equipped with a 9-inch touchscreen display with remote control. The seats are also equipped with a power outlet for charging mobile phones and a USB port.
