BRASSCHAAT AIRFIELD
About the airfield
The airfield started operations the first time anno 1910 and is one of the oldest military
airfields in the world.
It is situated 20 km northeast of the city of Antwerp and is part of the military camp of Brasschaat.
It has been the home base for the school of light aviation of the belgian army until 2006, when this school
was closed due to reorganization. After that the airfield wasn't in use by the army anymore.
Many historical aircraft have been part of the site:
Henry Farman F 20, Tiger Moth, Piper super cub, Dornier DO 27, Britten Norman Islander.
Also heli's had their homebase here : alouette 2, agusta A109 and aerospatiale puma.
Today most of the flying is done by the aeroclub of Brasschaat which has both motor plane
and sailplane activity. There is also a company which does restoration/maintenance of historical aircraft.
Version 1.3
Added most of the buildings south of the airfield.
The elongated buildings on the east side are former horse stables.
The horses were used by the army to pull the artillery pieces.
They are very old. According to some sources older than the airfield.
One of them has been restored and is now the new clubhouse of aero club Brasschaat.
The sheds on the west side are the former sheds for the army aircraft and now house the gunfire museum.
The former tower is now a mini museum about the history of the site.

Making scenery is very timeconsuming, so after EBBT it will be quiet for a while.

Runway 34 has a northwest direction of 341° in the scenery, in little navmap and in real world.

I am planning to do updates on my EBBT scenery however, and the first one is not far away.
It will probably never be his quality, but it will be better than what it is at the moment.
