INTRO
As requested, here is a copy of my most recent ReShade .ini file. This profile primarily corrects for the overly orange lighting inherent to MSFS 2020 and the overly blue atmosphere in MSFS 2024. I've also added LUMAsharpen.fx/DELC_sharpen.fx to reduce the softness of MSFS's look, but I've even lowered their levels to minimize graininess.
REQUIREMENTS
1. RESHADE FX
To use this preset, you need the following ReShade fx. They should all be included in the base install of ReShade, just make sure you enable qUINT in the install options.
- qUINT's lightroom.fx
- qUINT's bloom.fx
- LUMAsharpen.fx OR DELC_sharpen.fx
- deband.fx (night preset only)
2. REX ATMOS CORE
The MSFS2024 version of the ReShade preset requires REX Atmos to reach its full potential. These profiles can be found by searching "nszhang1" in the weather, atmos, and enviro categories in REX Atmos CORE.
USE THE ATMOS PRESET VERSION THAT CORRESPONDS TO THE RESHADE PRESET VERSION YOU HAVE ACTIVE.
For example, as of right now, the ReShade version is 6.1. In REX Atmos, please use version 6.1 of my weather, atmosphere, and environment presets.
Despite all of this, I believe the ReShade profile alone still improves the simulator's default appearance, so REX Atmos is not a strict requirement. segue-50.
Also, a monitor capable of 10-bit RGB is recommended.
NIGHT PRESET
With the introduction of v5 (MSFS2024 version), I've added a nighttime version that introduces additional bloom fx and adjusts color grading, as well as fixes some texture banding issues with light gradients. It does not work well during the day. I typically toggle it around nautical/astronomical sunrise/sunset, but you can choose for yourself when you want it on. You can also use the day preset at night, and I think it still looks great.
I'm excited to see what y'all think--have fun with it! Add me on Volanta for more screenshots @nszhang1

Version History
[MAJOR UPDATE] - Removed necessity of a separate night preset - now, one singular reshade fx works in both day and night lighting conditions - Night exposure now handled within bloom.fx to make night lighting pop more, while not overexposing bloom during the day - Another overhaul of color grading - rebalanced colors controlled by ATMOS vs. ReShade
