    Improved VMR for vatsim model matching using FSLTL - Image 1

    Description

    A generic model matcher for all icao type codes.

    This VMR is generated by computing a likeness score between two aircrafts based on a few databases. It assumes you have the default msfs installed as well as FSLTL. If you encounter on vatsim an aircraft that is not either in FSLTL nor in the MSFS base package, this VMR will pick the aircraft that looks similar according to my heuristic.

    Helicopters are supported.

    This file replaces the FSLTL VMR  file.

    hi, I found that using your .vmr file, all the UAE 2-enngine aircraft will be matched with United livery, while the 4-engine A380 is normal(see pics)

    Interesting. The vmr prefers type correctness over airline correctness. Do you remember which types are the 2 engine aircrafts?

    They look fine in the VMR. Do you have a VMR configured that takes precedence maybe?

    Nope you're right, I found the issue. I use "UA" as a callsign prefix for united in some place, and UAE starts with UA. I'll fix this.

    Thanks for your great job! And btw may I kindly request adding the CatchStar Aurora model into the .vmr file? This is a GA aircraft from China, when we guys flying the aurora aircraft(icao code: AURA) in vatsim, the vpilot pop out a hint that "this is an unknow type code and preventing other pilots seeing my aircraft in the sim". So is it possible to add some codes into the .vmr file to make the vpilot "recognize" this aircraft, so that I can see my friends in vatsim? Many thanks if we can see each other in vatsim!

    Thank you for this. In the FSLTL pack there are no GA aircraft though? And where should the .vmr be placed - in the vpilot VMR folder? or left in the community folder?

    There a few GA aircrafts in FSLTL. The vmr can be placed anywhere, you need to configure vpilot to look for it in the settings.

    Any chance you could do another version that also includes AIG models, or maybe another that can pickup IVAO MTL models (FSLTL+AIG+IVAO)? That would be the ultimate solution that gets users the most models, since each pack is missing some different aircraft that the others have.
