Updated F-20A Hammerhead that includes a lot of the feedback you guys have given me :)

Larger jet ( increased size from 12m to 16m ( 40 ft to 52.5 ft )

Improved brakes

Engine has more thrust

Upper speed limit is now around 900 knots ( causes vibration and needs to be in a dive to achieve )

Better Taxi steering

Zoomed outside view so the jet doesn't look so small

Added other things like IRST and a few changes to the cockpit layout.

To install a community jet in MSFS you need to go to your Users/ your name /AppData/Roaming/Microsoft Flight Simulator/Packages/Community folder and drop the "witus-f-20a-hammerhead" folder from the drive link there. When you load of MSFS next time it should be selectable in your hangar :)

Cold start doesn't work, you can spool up the APU and the engine to 20% but I simply can't find the control for jumping the throttle to idle ( sure you can move the throttle, but the engine start up sequence doesn't recognize it ) So use CTRL+E for now ( I put it on the red "Remove before flight" ribbon, very clever haha ).

The jet will shut down the engine if you pull the throttle all the way back ( past the idle stop ) - that's realistic - but annoying ;)

It is necessary to take off using flaps and rotate around 170 / 180 knots and immediately suck up the landing gear and flaps or else they will jam in place

You cannot drop the landing gear above 170 knots as well ... so slow down on approach and drop it when below 170 - the aircraft can stay airborne down to around 110 knots..

The shortcuts for looking left and right from the pilot seat teleports you back into the aircraft, will investigate if it's just a camera positional thing..

Afterburner is sometimes visible, sometimes not ( could be an altitude thing ) :S

We're missing a fuel gauge and a way to shut off the "Fuel low" warning

Since this update only includes one skin, I'm going to upload a few skins for it. This is to make the download lighter initially and so people can sort what skins they want for their jet

Beyond the skin uploads I'll make variants of the jet in different mission profiles, Slick, CAP, CAS, SEAD perhaps IDS and will consider requests :) These will be separate aircraft uploads since the flight model will need to be tweaked

Eventually I'll get around to making the C model with a better looking cockpit :)

The F-20A Hammerhead is an F-20 Tigershark homage drawing on design styling from YF-23, SR-71 and F-35 - the jet is small compared to it's contemporaries, but that's by design: Lower RCS and harder to spot visually.

Microsoft announced they're going to update to MSFS 2024, so I simply don't have the time to finish the mod the way I want. So I'm releasing what I have now for free so people can at least have some fun with the jet. And then I'll probably transition to making an updated F-20C Hammerhead for MSFS 2024 once that releases :) Think of it as a type of early access - I'll try and keep the 2020 jet updated :)
