    Fixes for the Wing42 Boeing 247D - Image 1

    Description

This mod version combines all my previous B247D mods in one. To install this mod just place the folder in the community folder. DO NOT OVERWRITE THE ORIGINAL FILES.

    - The oil temperature indicators in the original plane have a 140 instead of 180. It has been corrected.
    - The Oil Temperature indicatiors show the CORRECT temperature
    - The VSI is fixed. Now shows the real vertical speed while ascending or descending with speeds grater than 500 fpm
    - The cylinder and carburator temperature indicator in the original plane has a placeholder. I have replace it with the General Electric's logo.
    - I have reduced the effect of the cowl flaps levers. Now is much easier to control the oil temperature. It takes some time to warm, but now it is possible to keep the needle steady in a temperature position instead of "chasing the needle" all the time.
    - I have created a Wwise file to include several sounds:
     - Sound for the fuel pump system (valve left and right, valve on/of, and pump)  - Missing right flywheel
     - Tocuchdown sounds added
     - Fixed (and replaced) missfiring sound
     - Added missing sound when selecting right fuel tank
     - Replaced the engine combustion and propeller sounds.
    - Replaced flywheel and cluch sounds.
    - Added humming sound while the battery is connected.

After v4.6 do I still need to engage the alternator or has this version fixed it (I notice the "true" in the apron.flt)? On another subject I lose the right engine religiously after about an hour or so of flying. I use the parameters from the clipboard for the various phases of flight. I keep the carb to over 100 degrees, to be honest I haven't checked the oil temps yet (I normally run full closed on oil dampers and hot carb heat). Any insight? Thanks. BTW, Although I'm American I lived in El Puerto de Santa Maria for years and my wife is from there. Puerto is my soul.

Gracias. I have not been flying the 247 for almost a year now, however I did fly it extensively and for hours to make and test the mod. You have to check the oil temp constantly and do not let it rise too much for too long. It is the main reason the engine dies. I have never need to use the carburator heater in this plane. Or at least I cannot remember using it. In regards to the alternator, yoy are correct. The alternator is engaged now by default.

There is no need to reinstall anything. The mod goes to the mods folder. You are not suppossed to rewrite any original files. If you do not want the mod, just remove the folder and the plane reverts to vanilla. (By the way, I do not know why you said is like autopilot, there are NO changes in the flight model or the engine management. The only changes affect the oil temperature indicator, just that).

    Hello,

I know 2024 is not supported.
But maybe you can have a look. I do not have any sounds with your mod in 2024.
    Without, sounds work.

Maybe you consider to have a look into it.
    many thanks!

Sadly, I don't own a copy of FS2024. My computer was already at its limit, and buying a new one capable of running the new sim is beyond my reach at the moment. I'm in the process of buying and redecorating a house. My plan is to consider making the jump in the second half of 2025, but then I'll have to figure out how to transfer the files from one system to another, which I expect will be quite challenging. I know this isn't the answer you wanted, but believe me, it's not the answer I want to give either. I wish Otmar (the B247 developer) would reappear and update (and fix) his plane, but I guess that's a lost hope.

    Thank you for the post.

Hey, I am trying to get your mod working on a Marketplace version, but no go. First time I installed it, everything seemed to work ok, the engines started without a problem, then when I took off, the gear motor was dead (fuse ok), the radio was dead (fuse also ok), I did not continue the flight. Next try the engines wouldn't start no matter what I did. I deleted the mod, still the engines wouldn't start. Reinstalled the plane, installed the mod on the clean install. Left engine started, the right one did not. When the fuel supply selector is set to left engine, the wobble pump increases fuel pressure on both gauges.
On the bright side, I really like the sounds a lot.

I never encounter a problem with the mod at all. That is very strange. Are you sure is the mod? Have you have othere mods also installed? The name of the mod folder begins with several XX so it will be loaded the last.

    Version History

I've fixed up how the VSI works. Before, it was moving the needle in a linear manner, ignoring the different distances between the first 500 feet (both up and down) and the intervals from 500 to 1000 and 1000 to 2000 feet. I've sorted all that out. So, when your plane's climbing or descending at speeds higher than 500 feet per minute, the VSI shows the real deal. I want to thank CruiseBoost for pointing out this bug. I've also tweaked the volume of the flywheel and clutch noises so they're not as loud when you've got the windows open. Couldn't just adjust the original sound files because they're compiled, so I had to redo those sounds from scratch. I have also added a "humming" quiet sound when the battery is conncected, I've given everything a good test run, but as a one-man band, there might be some kinks left. Feel free to drop me a line if you notice anything funky or have any suggestions. Always appreciate the feedback!
