MSFS 2024 Compatibility Statement:

These Older Eyes mods (and Jaydee's GTN On Others dependency) are compatible with MSFS 2020 aircraft in MSFS 2024. They are NOT compatible with native 2024 aircraft.

This is a series of mods that replaces GNS530/430 GPS units with a PMS50 GTN650 in selected aircraft. I want to give a shout-out to JayDee, without whose 'JDs PMSGTN750 on Others' mod mine would not be possible. Thanks JayDee, for paving the way!

JayDee's mod is great, but for older eyes like mine, a GTN750 in a GNS530 bezel can be hard to read. I found the GTN650 much easier to read in that bezel, and so created a series of mods that replace the GNS530 with GTN650. Another thing I like versus the GTN750 in the GNS530 bezel:  the map area is in widescreen aspect ratio with not much vertical space, which isn't ideal if you use Track Up map orientation. The GTN650 in a GNS530 bezel presents a square(ish) map with more vertical headroom.

The GTN650 replacement pack currently includes 64 replacement mods. Note that JayDee's mod includes a GTN650 for the Just Flight Avro Vulcan, so that one is not included in my pack.

SPECIAL NOTE FOR THE XTREME PROTOTYPES GATES LEARJET 25

The GTN650 mod for the Xtreme Prototypes Learjet 25 is released in an experimental state. Use at your own risk. It does not meet my personal standards for release, but seeing as there has been no progress from the vendor for some time, I've decided to release it anyway. It does not fit as cleanly into the GNS530 bezel, nor is it as sharp as the other GTN replacements in this pack. Despite that, its overall functionality should not be impaired.

SPECIAL NOTE FOR BLACK SQUARE PRODUCTS

The Older Eyes add-ons for the Black Square Analog Baron, Analog Caravan, and TBM-850 replace the secondary GNS-430 unit with a GTN-650. The mods should only be used with the PMS GTN-750 as the primary navigation unit.

SPECIAL NOTE FOR THE DC-3

The mod only supports the three retrofit liveries provided with the DC-3. Other retrofit liveries, whether the Bonus Pack from Aeroplane Heaven or those from 3rd parties, will need to have their panel.cfg file replaced with one that includes the GTN units. A replacement panel.cfg and installation instructions are provided in the "GTN650 mod for DC-3 Liveries" folder.

SPECIAL NOTE FOR THE ANT'S TIGER MOTH AND CAC-25 WINJEEL

The GTN unit in the Ant's Airplanes Tiger Moth and CAC-25 Winjeel now powers on with the aircraft battery. The GPS Power clickspot in the top right corner of the bezel will not toggle power on the GTN650.
