Description
Wallis WA116 "Little Nellie" Autogyro package for Microsoft Flight Simulator (MSFS) v1.0
This model is for Microsoft Flight Simulator (MSFS2020) ONLY, and will not work in earlier versions of Flight Simulator.
Installation:
Unzip to a temporary folder then copy the "dg-autogyro" into your MSFS community folder.
A fun little aircraft depicting the autogyro "Little Nellie" as featured in the James Bond film "You Only Live Twice"
As MSFS doesn't support autogyros natively, at the moment the flight dynamics are based off the default XCub, tweaked to suit.
If anybody can improve the flight dynamics, please be my guest!
Starter and fuel pump switches are included on the panel to make life easier, although they would not be there on the real aircraft.
Missiles, guns, flame throwers and rockets are inop for now, but hopefully that will change in future updates.
There is a rotor brake lever on the rotor head. Don't try and fly with it engaged!
Enjoy!

Now I just need someone to model an Ikarus C42 and a real passenger paraglider trike (Mustang). That would be something.

Here I installed the game D:\Spiele\Microsoft Flight Simulator\Community
Here it made another folder (in the hidden folders): D:\WpSystem\S-###numbers###003\AppData\Local\Packages\Microsoft.FlightSimulator_8wekyb3d8bbwe\LocalCache\Packages\Community
I tried both folders (extracted the files there), one after another. No gyro shows up...
But I did have it in-game a year ago...
Any ideas?

~Community/dg-autogyro/dg-autogyro/...
should simply be:
~Community/dg-autogyro/...
That's quite a common problem when unzipping.

But after getting rid of it, I still do not have the gyro in game...
(...)
First, it did not work, no idea why.
But I just dumped the complete old folder, and extracted it from the zip again, now it is there again.
So thx for your help and the very important hint subfolder! 👍
Last question, do you know whether it is possible to steer the gyro by the stick in VR?

I am having the hardest time trying to get these things to work.
I follow the instructions with downloading the files of these awesome add-ons, yet when I go to play MSFS, there is nothing showing. I copy them to my Community folder as suggested; yet, to no avail.
Any thoughts as I'd really like to utilize these instead of just adding data to my hard drive.
Thank you ever so much. Take care and have a great day.

Walk us through what you have done if not, maybe i can
find where you are going wrong??

Thank you for taking time to read and reply back.
If I remember correctly, I ( we will use the same gyro as an example as I've not been able to make it work), I click the "Download" file which places the files into, "My Downloads". I then Extract them and then take the "DG-AUTOGYRO" folder and copy / move the folder into my Community Folder, - (in my case, subfolder, "add-ons") as suggested in the notes from the designer.
That's where it comes to a halt. I can't seem to figure out what the next file or step is.
Thank you again. Take care and have a great day.

We have received intelligence that the evil mastermind, Dr. Asobo is planning a mandatory reset of the VR world that may well wipe out the communities' folders. We need to know Asobo's whereabouts. Your mission 00buck is to fly a gyrocopter, Little Nellie, out to reconnoiter off the coast of Spain, specifically Ibiza and the Balearic islands, to locate Dr. Asobo.
Little Nellie will be delivered to LECS from whence you will depart and fly to Ibiza. There is an airport at LEIB, but you are not to land. After reconnoitering the islands you are to rendezvous offshore with the carrier ZM06 where X from MI8 will be waiting to debrief you.
In the event of an emergency, you are to ditch Little Nellie and use your I-Phone to signal for a pickup. Good luck. Of course if you are caught or compromised in any way, we will have been out fishing for the last two weeks . Therefore we will have been totally unaware of this plan or your actions.

I flew around the PT boats, Catalinas and Martin Clipper . The maneuverability is fantastic. Then I landed on the beach and taxied into the water to cruise around them up close. Next I taxied ashore, locked the rotor blades and drove around the Wildcats , SBDs, Buffalos, B-17s and B-24s.
The neat thing it can be driven around the flight line like a Morgan three wheeler. This is the perfect vehicle for exploring. It turns like the real one and when pulled up, it settles much like the real thing.
The rockets and flamethrowers can be armed and fired, but there is no visible reaction from the weapon pods. No big deal, Bond already dealt with Blofeld for me.
I never liked rotorcraft. I'm of the "god would have glued wings on if it was supposed to fly", frame of mind, but this little gem is as much fun as any fixed wing craft in my stable of oldies. I play the theme from "You Only Live Twice" while I cruise around Kagoshima Prefecture on Kyushu. I have a lot more exploring to do.
What a trip! Never thought I would live to see a day when I could fly around the world from my living room. After 2700 hrs in real world cockpits, it's a fantasy come true.
MSFS 2020 - It's my world and I can do what I damn well please. The FAA can just buzz off. Ha! Ha! Ha!
