Description

Welcome to RAF Lakenheath, Based in Suffolk, England.
RAF Lakenheath is an Airbase located in Thetford forest, Suffolk, And is Used by USAF.
Americas 48th is based at RAF Lakenheath along with 3 Main FS. These are the 492nd, 493rd, 494th.
These Squadrons operate the F-15C & F-15E.
RAF Lakenheath is also home to the beautiful HH-60s Owned by the USAF.
RAF Lakenheath is still under development and offers lots more in the future. Due to the F-15 Coming to MSFS2020, I decided
to create this base as my first ever project. At the moment, Only default objects are being used but custom user created object will arrive throughout
January [ Night lighting has been implemented aswell! ]. Be sure to keep checking for the latest version on this so you dont miss out on anything Important!

Will there be any updates to this Scenery now that the 57th RQS is gone and the 495th has come in with the F-35s

I have added the file into my community folder but it has not changed any scenery for me any ideas please ?

I know this base very well in deed. Very nice piece of work - lovely feel to it. Look forward to the updated HAS's etc when you get the chance!

Some info for your Description it is owned by the MOD (RAF), not by the USAF

It may be owned by the MOD, but the USA has invested BILLIONS in developing it over these many years!

Very true! I got told off once at Mildenhall because I touched the fence, Two fully armed USAF officers came over and said "don't touch our fence" and My grandad came in and say "It is an RAF base with and RAF station commander, funded by UK taxpayers, it is more our fence than yours" the 2 officers said "good point" and walked off!

Great so far, but you know there's a long way to go. Then there is Mildenhall next door! Of course I am spoilt as I have all RAF/USAF airfields in FSX but these two fields, when everything is in place, including all the interior and peripheral security fences are in place, we just then need planes and helicopters to be able to enjoy it to the full:)

Yeah when the f15 comes out this month [ hopefully ] i will be adding them to be static ground objects. I Think RAF Conningsby is next for the typhoon mod

Great scenery, have sat by the fence on many occasions, would be great to have the control tower too!

I am currently working on the tower now in blender. Same with the hangars aswell. Glad you like it!
