Description
Ministry of Defence St Athan or MOD St Athan (Welsh: Maes awyr Sain Tathan), formerly known as RAF St Athan, is a large Ministry of Defence unit near the village of St Athan in the Vale of Glamorgan, southern Wales. It was the designated site for the United Kingdom's new defence training academy, but the programme was cancelled on 19 October 2010.
The base has been home to the RAF No. 4 School of Technical Training throughout its life, as well as a major aircraft maintenance unit. St Athan has also been used to house British Army units, including the 1st Battalion, Welsh Guards. At one time it was home to a large collection of historical aircraft.
The only squadron to operate out of St Athan on a regular basis is the Universities of Wales Air Squadron (one of fourteen RAF University Air Squadrons), flying Grob Tutors. 2300 Squadron of the Air Training Corps is also located on the Station.
Between May 1947 and August 1973, St Athan was also home for the Administrative Apprentice Training School, which provided a 20-month training programme for boys who enlisted to become clerks or work in accounting, supply and administration, prior to posting to other RAF units for a 12-year term of service.
The airfield part of the site was transferred from military to civilian control on 1 April 2019. It is now owned by the Welsh Government and known as Bro Tathan airfield and is home to Bro Tathan Business Park. MOD St Athan continues to exist, comprising the barracks area which is adjacent to the airfield.

Hi, this is my local airport, but I'm not seeing any changes from the one with MSFS 2020. The static plane wings on the runway as shown in the screenshot, are they meant to be there? Because they were there before I downloaded the mod too and I am not aware of any changes. Lastly, do I install this like any other mod? I was confused because I see PackageContent when I extract the zip. Does that just extract to the community folder as normal?

THANKS, as a student at Horizon so nice to finally get this added here. few things though. Ramp 32 is the Horizon Flight school ramp. there is no fuel point here. Taxiway Alpha has markers along it starting at A1 ( the Holdshort point at Rwy 07 ) all the way to A6 ( the Holdshort at Rwy 36 )

Nice work... Populates another corner of South Wales with a decent rendition!
Just curious, I was already using OverripePuma's 'St Athan (EGDX) Search and Rescue' (https://flightsim.to/file/48334/st-athan-search-and-rescue) helicopter base addon to the default St Athan scenery in the SW corner, any chance that this will work in tandem? Would be nice to combine the work of two talented developers!

fantastic something to work with. I was based at st athan until 2020 so can provide a bit of reference if needed no photos though but i can work on memory and google image to help out if required just message me. Also the aircraft collection you mention still exists most of it is housed in a hangar on the northern side and is now the South wale aviation museum. Would be nice to get a couple of aircraft parked up in the wreckers area as theres alway aircraft waiting to be broken particularly after covid
