Syktyvkar Airport named after Peter Istomin is an international airport of federal significance in Syktyvkar, the capital of the Komi Republic. The airport is located near the city center.

After the airport was reconstructed in 2011, it began to be actively used by a number of Russian air carriers and the airport's passenger turnover is increasing annually. To date, 9 Russian air carriers are actively cooperating with the international airport. There are regular flights from the airport to Moscow, St. Petersburg, Vorkuta, Naryan-Mar, Yekaterinburg, Kazan and other Russian cities. Currently, the airport serves only domestic flights.

The Class B airfield is capable of receiving AN-12, AN-148, IL-76, Tu-154, Tu-204, Airbus A320, A321, A330-200, ATR 72, Boeing 737, Boeing 757, Embraer ERJ-145, E-190, Sukhoi Superjet 100 and all lighter, as well as helicopters of all types.
