Description
EBGB, airport Grimbergen Lint. For MSFS2020
Version 20201125 - 1.0.0
The airfield was originally built by Belgian soldiers in September 1939. However, it quickly fell into the hands of the German occupying forces in May 1940, which further developed and expanded the airfield. After its liberation in September 1944, the field was used by the Royal Air Force and would play an important role in several military operations before it was returned to the civilian authorities. They decided to turn Grimbergen into a tourism airport. Also here was the pilot school of the former national airline Sabena.
Due to a political reorganization, the airport was closed in 1989. The future of the airport was uncertain until it finally reopened in May 1997 after a compromise was reached to use part of the field as the current airport, part for municipal services and the remaining land as forest. The management of the airport is now in the hands of 'Recreatief Vliegveld Grimbergen vzw (RVG)', which is managed by members of Vliegclub Grimbergen and the Sabena Aeroclub.

The length of the grass is a difficult exercise. This depends on how green the surface is.
I could put a different texture, but then it gets ugly.
If you don't want grass, you can turn it off in one of the settings.
