Description
The Bear Mountain Bridge is a welcome sight when flying along the Hudson River 50 miles north of New York City. As you S-curve between two green-mantled mountains you admire the slender design of this span, the longest suspension bridge in the World when it was built in 1924. It carries over 7 million vehicles a year to and from work or play.
This update fixes some Level of Detail problems.
This very framerate-friendly add-on is a sample of the author's collection of more than 40 bridges around New York City bounded by the Outerbridge Crossing to the South, the Mid-Hudson Bridge to the North and the Robert Moses Causeway to the East. Depart from KPOU or KSWF and head down the Hudson River to enjoy this bit of simulator authenticity.

Everything looks good, except that about 1/2 mile out from the bridge, something weird happens. The lower part of the structure, below the road deck, disappears. It must be one of the LOD's model is a problem. I will check again next flight and from different altitudes.

That's the trestle structure; it goes away to lower the face count and load on your computer. Thanks for your comment, though. It says to me that I should extend the changeover point to farther away in an update, and I will do so soon. I truly appreciate the feedback.

Beautiful work, thank you.

I haven't tried it in-sim yet, but the photos look great! I used to pass by this on my way from NYC to Cold Spring to hike.
What do you mean by this being a sample from your collection? Do you mean you'll be releasing more bridges in the future or that you have developed a bridge library?

I have over 40 that I've designed and use daily. I'm waiting for better protection from copying. Soon! I'll publish it as a collection; you will be able to choose the ones you want and that don't conflict with what you might already have.
You can even land on it, but you've got to be good.
This was done using the new Asobo Blender to MSFS exporter. I and many others are trying to find problems so they can be fixed. Actually, you gave me an idea: I'll try to make another version that has the railroad tracks rather than the funny sloping river bank. Good exercise.
Glad you like it.

Thanks for the info. And the railroad tracks would be great. I didn't mention it but you figured it out, it was the train I took from the city to Cold Spring.

Just a comment to your fix. I like the scenery. Looks great! For that railroad fix and it looks like another road behind it. You can make a polygon edit to tame the hill down, then just use a texture to "paint" the railroad. You can fix the water that way too with multiple polygons if needed and the hillsides. The editor will let choose what type of water as well. You can then add the vegetation(trees) for that area and specify how big they are with scale to cover up any run-over. Looking forward to it.
