LXGB Gibraltar RNP Approach Navdata - Image 1

    Description

The Gibraltar AB is used for civil aircraft (primarily cat. C), with tricky approaches due to airspace restrictions. Prior to Brexit it had RNP-AR approaches with a well defined approach track, but these were removed as of AIRAC cycle 2108, due to reliance on EU infrastructure. This package adds the RNP-AR approaches for both runways as they existed in the UK MIL AIP dated 16/7/2020, along with the GBR TACAN (113.6 MHz, chanel 83).

In most cases you probably want to pick the PIMOS transition. The missed approaches are fully coded.

    What's Included

This package contains both of the Gibraltar AB RNP AR approaches for use with the default MSFS navdata. The data is derived from the MSFS default navdata (waypoints), and the official AIP. These procedures are not included in worldwide navdata sets for the afformentioned reason.

    The following procedures are included:

    RNP 09 (AR)
    RNP 27 (AR)

    MSFS2024

The MSFS2024 download option includes all of the additional data possible with the MSFS2024 SDK. It is highly recommended to use this package rather than the MSFS2020 main download.

    What's Not Included

This package does not supplement navdata for aircraft that do not use the MSFS database, for example Fenix and PMDG.

    Installation

Extract to your community folder as usual.

    Navigraph Users

While not the intended use, this package may work alongside the Navigraph navdata for MSFS, but you may need to use the package reorder tool to put it above Navigraph. You may also encounter duplicate procedures where Navigraph also has the latest versions of the procedure.

    Hi,
Apologies for the slow reply. Copy the folder named `tracernz-navdata-lxgb` (or `tracernz-navdata-lxgb-fs2024` for FS2024) to your community folder. Good luck.

    Hello,

I think there are many of us who fly the PMDG 737 and the Fenix and FlyByWire A320 who are subscribers to Navigraph and who would benefit from being able to add this procedure to their FMC/MCDU flight routing.

Someone recently did this for the old Hong Kong Kai Tak airport. Are you able to post the actual waypoints (LAT/LONG) here so simmers who fly these aircraft and who have Navigraph subscriptions can use the procedure ? It would be a big help to the Community.

    Thanks for listening.

    Hi Lee,

You can find all the waypoints and the procedure coding here: https://web.archive.org/web/20201030003326/https://www.aidu.mod.uk/aip/pdf/ad/LXGB-Gibraltar-Combined.pdf

    See pages 26 and 29.

    Hope that helps.

Hi, is it possible for you to provide a list of the lat/long of all the waypoints for these procedures so that I can input them manually into the Fenix airbus? Thank you.

Could it work without navigraph? I mean some airports here have also navdata folder which is installed as the airport itself into community folder and then you can see all the approaches in the spawn menu and also when for example using default A320,747 or 787. Thx.

It's intended to work without Navigraph. I don't use Navigraph data myself.

Will that work with PMDG 737 with valid airac?

I believe PMDG chose not to use the sim navdata, so they won't benefit from this package.

Did you ever install Navigraph data before? I think you need to use the navdata reorder tool to fix things up if so.

I wonder if it might be possible to update this to work with the new RDPresets LXGB?

I've been meaning to try it out. I wonder what they're doing to navdata...

i saw someone make a comment about it not working on the RD Presets site forum too. It would be great if you could get it operational again (if possible).

Unfortunately it's not feasible to "overlay" navdata onto the Fenix database to my knowledge... I'll ask on their discord?
