Aktau International Airport (Kazakhstani: Aktau Halykaralyk Aktau; (IATA: SCO, ICAO: UATE) is the airport of Aktau. It is located 21 kilometers from the city in a northeasterly direction.
The airport operates since 1983 and is equipped to accept and release almost all types of aircrafts operating in civil aviation.

The construction of the new terminal was completed in 2009. Capacity was 450 passenger/hour, the total area is 13,400 square meters, including the area occupied by VIP and CIP - halls. For passenger comfort and safety the terminal is equipped with state-of-the-art security and safety equipment, as well as electronic and electromechanical systems, such as: passenger telescopic gangways, electronic check-in desks, HVAC - cooling and heating system, FIDS - flight messaging system on the electronic board, X-RAY - X-ray scanners, CCTV - video surveillance system, elevators and escalators.

Final works on the reconstruction of the runway were completed in 2011. Upon termination of reconstruction the length of a strip makes 3052 m, width 60 m, durability of a covering PCN - 50 units, the strip is equipped by light-signalling system of OVI class 1 that will allow to accept all aircrafts without restrictions.

JSC "International Airport Aktau" became the winner in the category "CIS Best Airport of the Year in 2010" and "Promising Developing Airport of the CIS Countries in 2009".
