    Mototok - Image 1

    Description

    * Now the 2 models have been compiled as separate packages, so you can choose whether installed both models or not (8600 is for airliners and M528 is for GA aircraft), please DELETE the old one (kychungdotcom-groundvehicles-mototok) before installing the new one *

The existing stock pushback vehicles doesn't work in a sensible way, especially for those aircraft which need towbars in real life. We see the pushback tug penetrating into aircraft bodies, and the operator of the little caddy being cut by propellers. So let's try something state-of-the-art.

Mototok is a kind of remote controlled battery electric pushback vehicle. Although it looks very small, the most powerful model could move a XWB twin engines like A350 or 777. It also offers models with lower power ratings for moving GA aircrafts.

Please don't complain about the behaviour of the vehicle when it try to approach the nosewheel, as I have no control over it. They would still spin around the nosewheel and then suddenly translate to get attached just like the stock one.

There may be conflicts between this mod with other ground handling mods, if you have one. In case it happens, it's your own decision for keeping which one.

Good description but it doesn't tell me how to install it. I've put it in the Community Folder but I don't see it. Any idea why?

Did you install any other ground handling addons which also provides custom pushback vehicles?

    Great job, thanks!

Thank you for creating these mototok tugs. I use the smaller white version for general aviation and it works great. Visually its much better than having ground crew go into the fuselage or propeller.

Hi, are you considering making a smaller tug model that uses the same principals of this. I feel like the default tug is way too big for 737s and a320s

In fact the Model 8600 is designed exactly for single-aisle jetliners

Hello, I used Mototok since the first day you released. Yesterday I bought Arex Europe and this addon substitute the Asobo tug. So now I lost Mototok... Do you know how it's possible to use Arex and Mototok at the same time? Thanks

You can try to locate 2 folders called "ASO_Pushback" and "ASO_Aircraft_Caddy" inside the Arex addon, delete them and then rebuild the layout.json file, but it is risky to do so, as you need some basic knowledge about making addons, and it is irreversible if anything goes wrong.

As a followup to this, I'm also trying to get them to coexist ( it is now some time past SU9 release ). Arex has three tugs, none of them are named for the Asobo ones - and if you remove them ( leaving the rest of the vehicles ) you get no tug at all. If you disable Arex entirely, then this mod's tugs appear. Yes, I've regenerated the layout several times.

How the game discovers tugs seems to be a little arcane atm, I've not worked it out.

Edit: as a further followup, the GA tug works - however there's no tug for the bigger aircraft.

Love it, can you make it so it uses the default one for airlines and just this one for GA? (Kinda like replace just the human tug one with this not everything)

You can do so by deleting the folder "ASO_Pushback" inside "SimObjects\GroundVehicles" of the mod.

I did that but now there's just no tug for the airliners

Then you may have one more step: update layout.json of the mod by using MSFSLayoutGenerator:
