    LEAL Alicante Terrain & Taxiway Fix (MSFS 2024 Only)

    This is a targeted terrain compatibility fix designed specifically for the MSFS2020 Freeware version of LEAL (Alicante–Elche Miguel Hernández Airport) when imported into Microsoft Flight Simulator 2024. I'm still learning my way around the SDK Editor so this is an attempt to make the wonderful freeware LEAL finally usable for those of us over in MSFS2024 - bugs and issues may arise but I hope it works smoothly enough! :)

    There may still some small bumps at C3 and near D, however most airliners should be able to traverse the bumps without any issue rather than fall down the cliff as they did before! I'll look to address any reported bumps in a future update!

    What This File Should Fix

    • Taxiway & Apron 'Cliffs': Eliminates the massive, jagged cliff drops that naturally form across the apron and key runway exit points / taxiways.
    • In doing so I flattened the surrounding area a good bit, I didn't notice any major changes but please point out anything extreme/gamebreaking!
    • This is a SIMPLE fix!

    Important Information

    • MSFS 2024 Only: This package is built using the MSFS 2024 SDK core and is strictly intended for use in the new simulator. There should be no need to install this on MSFS 2020 as the scenery was originally built for that simulator.
    • Requires Original Freeware: This is not a standalone airport. You must have the original MSFS2020 LEAL freeware airport by Hergi1234 installed in your Community folder for this fix to work. You can find that airport HERE.
    • Basic Fix Status: This is a straightforward geometry patch to fix the physical ground on the taxiways. It is not meant to change anything else about the scenery!
    • Traffic & AI Warning: This fix has not yet been tested with advanced AI traffic injectors or ATC programs such as FSLTL, BeyondATC, or SayIntentions. AI aircraft nodes and pathfinding heights may or may not fully align with the fix - please let me know if you notice any strange behaviour!

    If you have any problems, please let me know! As mentioned I'm very new to this and learning as I go, so I'm expecting bugs to come up! Whether I can fix those bugs is another question XD

    for me the ils makes me land at the end of tdz and beyond atc makes me and even ai go around all the time because of a possible altitude discrepancy from navdata and airport

    Hi - sorry to hear that! It sounds like there may be a conflict with another scenery or add-on that you have installed - also are you on 2020 or 2024?

    im on 2024 of course but the ils is broken for me and other people we just have aircraft, leal hergi scenery, and this fix

    thank you, i think it could be an altitude issue of the airport and navdata so maybe check that, when loading a decompiled version of the airport the runway seemed to be floating above the fix so thats some info that might help

    Hi, I don't know if this happens to more people buy there are unnecessary floodlight poles now. For example, in the terminal stands each one has an extra one that goes through the jetway building and in remote stands the floodlights appear on the parking line, going through the aircraft when its parked and rendering them useless.

    Hi there!

    I think this may be a conflict with another scenery that is impacting or influencing LEAL in some way, as the poles do not appear for me at all. For example, I know in the past I've experienced terrain conflicts due to lighting mods aimed at multiple airports, despite that airport not being listed!

    Could you let me know whether you are on MSFS2020 or 2024, and also what stands the poles are present at? I can double check once more whether they are present for me or not then! :)

    Hi, this realfixes the issue, but now in mine opinion it is to flat. there should be a small height difference between the taxiway c3 and the apron.

    Hi, thank you for the positive review! I appreciate and agree that the terrain is now probably 'too flat', but as I'm just an amateur with the SDK, I don't feel confident attempting to rectify these issues without breaking the airport again! This fix is just intended to make the airport usable again, thanks for your feedback and happy flying! :)
