I’ve been working on a custom Sidestick profile for the MOZA AB9 base that tries to match the real Airbus A32X Sidestick feel as closely as possible. I based everything on EFCS data and actually measured the required forces at different stick deflections using a measuring device (dynamometer). Those values were then converted and tuned for the AB9 in the right ratio between required roll vs. pitch force.
Here’s what you’ll notice:
- Every axis is different in feel and force
- Pitch axis requires more force than roll axis
- Pitch has less damping, so it snaps back to center faster
- Roll is more damped and feels a bit more “stable”
- Max. pitch-axis travel has been limited to 16°
- Authentic feel around the center position
Overall, the goal was to make Airbus A32X flying feel as authentic as possible on the AB9 based on accurate Sidestick force measurements and technical data.
