Syria SIM presents a major reconstruction of Damascus International Airport (OSDI) for Microsoft Flight Simulator. Version 1.8.2 is a significant leap forward, replacing generic structures with high-fidelity, custom-built assets to provide the most authentic representation of Syria’s primary international hub.
This version stands as the most architecturally accurate representation of the airport to date.
### Key Features in v1.8.2:
- Authentic Jetway Textures: Jetway colors have been updated to realistically mimic their real-world counterparts.
- ICAO Standard Taxiway Signs: All taxiway signs have been overhauled to comply with official ICAO formats for correct navigation.
- Total Terminal Reconstruction: The main terminal has been completely rebuilt from scratch to match the real-world architecture with extreme precision.
- Ground & Marking Overhaul: Fully updated ground textures and high-fidelity taxiway/runway markings for an immersive experience.
- Runway Optimization: Fixed the sudden elevation issues ("runway bump") for smooth operations.
- Realistic Environment: Custom 3D models for hangars and airport infrastructure specifically designed for OSDI.
### ⚠️ IMPORTANT: INSTALLATION INSTRUCTIONS
To avoid conflicts and ensure the update works correctly, please follow these steps:
- DELETE the old version of this airport from your MSFS Community folder before installing the new one.
- Download the v1.8.2 ZIP file.
- Extract the new folder into your Community directory.

But there is one question rising: What are the recommended libraries?
The former informations after the liine "Required Libraries: Ensure you have the following libraries installed:" disapppeared - since your last update is online.

Hey everyone! We want to give you a quick update on what we are currently focused on for our Syrian airports.
Right now, the team is working deep "under the hood" on the airport logic. This includes two main areas:
1. Vehicle Circulation: We are fully redrawing and configuring the taxiway network specifically for service vehicles (tugs, baggage carts, fuel trucks). This will ensure they move correctly within the airport, rather than interfering with aircraft or driving across the grass.
2. Parking & Gate Configuration: We are adjusting and fine-tuning the parking types (Gates, Ramps, Cargo) and parking numbers/radii to better match the real-world operations and ensure correct AI traffic assignment.
You may also see some general, smaller updates in the next few versions. Please Note: Most of these upcoming updates will be technical or "quality of life" improvements. You won't see massive changes to the overall appearance of the buildings or the main layout. Our goal is simply to simulate the real airport as accurately and smoothly as possible within MSFS.
Thank you all for your incredible support and patience while we work on these technical improvements.
Blue Skies,
The Syria-Sim Team
