The Perfect Model Matching VMR - Image 1

    Description

From airliners, business jets, GA, helicopters, military jets. This VMR has it all.

This VMR requires you to download models from:

    AIG: https://github.com/Samueleonard/AIG-ModelMatching-For-MSFS2024/releases/tag/v1.4

    and

    IVAO: https://mtl.ivao.aero/installer

Once completed, add this VMR to your vpilot client under Model Matching -> Custom Rules

(Disclaimer: This VMR is not actually perfect and would appreciate feedback to be able to get it as close to perfect as possible)

    Best model matching I've used.

does it have the model matching for the dc designs f-14?

An F14 will be matched with one of the F14 models provided by the IVAO model set. This VMR means no one has to own a specific addon to get accurate model matching.

Question mostly for vPilot, I clicked rescan, and I'm still only seeing 96 models. Any ideas?

Sorry for the super late reply. I would double check if you have the models properly installed in your MSFS2024 community folder. This is where vpilot scans

It looks like some of the liveries that have "&" in the title are formatted incorrectly, being "&" rather than "&" which keeps vpilot from being able to load them. Edit: the distinction here gets eaten by web formatting. with "&" titled aircraft you have amp repeated twice rather than only once.

I can't lie, it took me a while to understand what you were trying to say thanks to the web formatting but once I got it WOW. Really impressive you found that and thanks for letting me know. Truly appreciate it :)

I am uploading the fix now but might find it difficult to test it over the next couple of days so please let me know if it works properly.

Does this works with no problem on MSFS2020? I downloaded IVAO MTL and the AIG files for MSFS2020.

I can't say for certain whether or not it would work with MSFS2020 as I believe the AIG models for MSFS2020 and MSFS2024 are different? Sorry I can't be more help

Hi there, loving the VMR and appreciate the effort! Lately I've noticed some more planes using other liveries than the ones used by their pilots (e.g. mme seeing the landor livery on a 737 rather than the modern BAW) as well as some having the classic chequered pink missing textures covering their plane. Last plane I saw this with was an SAS343. Just figured I'd let you know :D

Hi. I just checked my file and it should match a BAW 737 with a BAW A319 or A320 with either the modern livery or BAE retro. Perhaps you have an additional VMR file and models that include a BAW 737 (FSLTL for example)? Unfortunately, I can't check every model for broken textures as there are just too many and I haven't seen any myself :( but I would recommend reinstalling AIG and IVAO just to make sure :)

Thanks for getting back to me! I do indeed have the FSLTL installed as a backup together with its vmr below your perfectmodelmatching vmr. I'll be reinstalling AIG and IVAO as per your recommendation :D

Something else I've noticed (and this is just constructive stuff as I still absolutely respect the hell out of your work is that within the vmr I noticed there is quite a few models which refer to other aicraft. The most recent example I noticed is that a Leipzig 777 was spawning in as an airchine 747. Like I said, I still loveee the work you've done but wanted to let you know that there are quite a low of these interchanged models in the vmr from what i've seen so far. In case this is not happening for you I will redownload the vmr as well in case something may have gone wrong there :)

Thanks again for getting back to me, this also absolutely shows how you stand by your work so hats off to you for that!

I'll also go ahead and use the .aircraft command I saw you mention in another comment to get around to a little bit of debugging myself when I do see the mismatching occuring! Perhaphs I'll be able to find something out and get that info over to you :)

Thanks for all the feedback, building the perfect VMR is a team project! As you said, putting .aircraft in vpilot and sending me the results of when you see inaccurate models will make it much easier for both of us to figure out what went wrong. you can either dm me on here or my discord - DSOgunremi

Thanks for your feedback. Currently collecting this and a lot more for a future update.

And by Leipzig I'm assuming you mean DHL? In my file, a DHL 777 should be substituted as a DHL 767 as DHL don't have 777s but BOX (Aerologic) do

After having another look at the .aircraft from then and also some models I see now I understand what happened (this evening I had a leipzig pass infront of me on the runway so my curiosity was spiked). They use a VA callsign by the icao of LHA. So although it was a 777 rendering as a 747 it did render the correct airline (which make sense with the vmr rulings ofc). I was simply unaware of the LHA VA being a thing haha. I will make sure to update you given any major things ofc!

TLDR: I was confused between the LHA VA and the actual leipzig air liveries ofc being owned by DHL->BCS. Apologies for the confusion but now I'll keep and eye out and inform you when i see any actual things haha
