Beni–Mavivi Airfield (FZNP) is a small national airfield located near the city of Beni, in North Kivu Province, eastern Democratic Republic of the Congo. It is a strategic airport, serving both civil aviation and acting as a key logistical base for the MONUSCO (United Nations) operations.
While the immediate area around the airfield is not mountainous, departures offer a clear and impressive view of Mount Rwenzori, particularly visible after takeoff, adding a strong visual and immersive element to flight operations.
The airfield features two distinct apron areas:
- A laterite (dirt) apron, mainly used for civil aviation
- A separate apron located near the runway end, dedicated to MONUSCO (United Nations) operations
