Description
Mirage 2000 – Ukrainian Air Force #49
grey-blue paint scheme exactly as it was delivered. The aircraft maintains nearly the entire French appearance, including many of the original stencils and technical markings.
During its first months of service in Ukraine, the jet flew with French roundels and tail insignia, as there was no time for cosmetic changes during its rapid integration into air-defense operations. Only later were the Ukrainian roundels and identification markings applied, creating the distinctive hybrid look the aircraft carries today.
For enhanced recognition by friendly ground forces during low-altitude transit missions, the external fuel tanks were repainted in the colors of the Ukrainian flag — blue and yellow — making the aircraft instantly identifiable from below.
Beneath the canopy, the aircraft displays six kill markings, each representing a confirmed interception of a Russian Kh-101 cruise missile.
