Cli4D Designs has released a new Terre-de-Haut landmarks add-on for Microsoft Flight Simulator 2024. The scenery offers a more detailed recreation of the Caribbean island in Guadeloupe's Îles des Saintes archipelago. Located just south of Guadeloupe, Terre-de-Haut is known for the village of Le Bourg, its steep volcanic terrain and its distinctive bay. The new scenery focuses on these recognizable parts of the island and adds custom models, revised terrain and several points of interest.
A major part of the package is the custom 3D architecture across the island. Buildings around Le Bourg use PBR materials and aim to provide a more accurate representation of the local architecture than the default scenery. The package includes colorful façades, low-rise buildings and other structures typical of the area.
Cli4D Designs has also reworked the island's terrain and ground textures. Terre-de-Haut has steep elevation changes, prominent ridgelines and hills that rise directly from the coastline. The add-on adjusts these features and also improves roads, surface textures and elevation across the island. The coastline has received additional work as well. Custom rock formations and cliffs appear in several areas, while revised vegetation gives the island a more consistent appearance during low-level VFR flights.
The package also includes custom helipads. These provide additional locations for helicopter operations around Terre-de-Haut and the surrounding Îles des Saintes area. Several local landmarks have been recreated as dedicated 3D models. Fort Napoléon is one of the most prominent examples. It sits above Le Bourg and overlooks the bay. Together with the village scenery and coastal features, these landmarks provide useful reference points for sightseeing and VFR flights.
The scenery is mainly aimed at pilots who fly around Guadeloupe and the surrounding Caribbean islands, especially those interested in low-level VFR and helicopter operations.
