IronSim Studios has released Tucson City Landmarks, a comprehensive city scenery package for Microsoft Flight Simulator 2024 that transforms Arizona's second-largest city into a far more recognizable and architecturally detailed environment. Tucson, situated in the Sonoran Desert roughly 60 miles north of the Mexican border, is home to around 550,000 residents and serves as a significant regional hub for government, healthcare, education, and military activity.

The package introduces more than 150 handcrafted buildings and structures spread across the city, covering a broad cross-section of Tucson's built environment. Downtown landmarks, major hotels, civic buildings, sports venues, and medical complexes are all represented, giving the cityscape a genuine sense of place that the default simulator scenery simply cannot provide. The result is a Tucson that pilots can actually recognise from the air, whether they are flying a pattern at Tucson International Airport (KTUS), transiting overhead on a cross-country flight, or simply exploring the wider metropolitan area at low altitude.

A particular highlight of the package is its extensive recreation of the University of Arizona campus, which has been built out as a collection of numerous individual structures rather than simplified placeholder geometry. The University of Arizona is one of the most prominent institutions in the American Southwest, with a large urban campus that occupies a substantial footprint in the city's midtown area.

All buildings have been built with custom 3D models featuring high-resolution PBR textures, and the package includes custom night lighting to ensure the city reads convincingly across different times of day. Models have also been optimised with appropriate levels of detail to keep performance impact manageable, an important consideration given the volume of new geometry being introduced.
