Léon-M'ba International Airport (ICAO: FOOL, IATA: LBV) serves as the primary gateway to Libreville, the capital city of Gabon on the Atlantic coast of Central Africa. Named after the country's first president, the airport handles a mix of regional and international traffic, connecting Gabon to destinations across Africa and beyond. Airlines including Air France, Ethiopian Airlines, and several regional carriers operate through Libreville. Despite its real-world significance, the default representation in Microsoft Flight Simulator has left much to be desired — a situation that Community Creator dulce1021 has set out to address with this comprehensive scenery overhaul.
The 🔗 add-on tackles the airport from the ground up, replacing generic auto-generated buildings with purpose-built 3D models that better reflect what you would actually find at FOOL. Throughout the airfield, default auto-gen hangars have been swapped out for models sourced from other MSFS airports, while a dedicated fire station replaces an incorrectly placed auto-gen structure. A radar tracking tower has also been added in its correct real-world position.
Considerable work has gone into the apron and parking layout. All five of the airport's aprons have been updated — two civilian and three military — with approximately 30 real-world parking stands now accurately placed across the airfield. That includes two terminal gates equipped with jet bridges and a full set of remote parking positions.
The cargo area has received its own attention. Unsightly auto-gen hangars have been replaced with more realistic cargo warehouse buildings, and apron markings throughout the facility have been updated to reflect accurate real-world layouts. On the landside, the main terminal parking lot has been completely rebuilt, with hand-placed 3D vehicles adding life to the area. Stands of palm trees have been placed around the parking lot and entrance roads.
One of the more notable corrections concerns the road network surrounding the airport. The simulator's default satellite imagery predates the construction of a major six-lane freeway that now runs along the eastern side of the airfield. While AI traffic was still routing along this corridor in the default sim, vehicles appeared to drive through fields and buildings due to the missing road surface. This add-on corrects that by placing the freeway in its proper alignment, resolving one of the most visually jarring issues in the area.
The add-on is compatible with both MSFS 2020 and MSFS 2024. Installation is straightforward — simply extract the downloaded archive and place the js-airport-fool-libreville folder into your Community folder or use the convenient Flightsim.to Auto Installer. The developer does note that all Microsoft and Asobo Sim, World, and City updates should be installed, as several of the placed models are drawn from those packages.
