Budapest Ferenc Liszt International Airport (IATA: BUD, ICAO: LHBP) is Hungary's primary international gateway, connecting the country to destinations across Europe and far beyond. Situated roughly 16 kilometres southeast of the Hungarian capital, the airport handles a substantial mix of scheduled airline, low-cost, charter, cargo and general aviation traffic, making it one of Central Europe's busier and more operationally varied airports. Its distinctive terminal complex, SkyCourt connector, and the prominent control tower give the airport a recognisable character that frequent visitors to the region will know well.

LHSimulations, a Hungarian development studio, has been recreating 🔗 Budapest Airport across successive generations of flight simulation software since 2013. That long-standing commitment to this particular airport has resulted in an unusually deep understanding of the location — its layout, its operational details, and the steady stream of real-world changes that have reshaped its aprons, taxiways and infrastructure over the years. The Microsoft Flight Simulator release builds directly on that accumulated body of work, carrying forward more than a decade of research, local knowledge and customer feedback into what is now available for both MSFS 2020 and MSFS 2024.
The scenery covers the full airport footprint with a level of detail that reflects the studio's familiarity with the real site. The passenger terminal complex, SkyCourt, and Pier 1 are all represented, along with the iconic control tower that serves as one of the airport's most recognisable landmarks. Beyond the passenger-facing areas, the scenery extends to Cargo City and the expanded cargo apron, the general aviation apron with updated parking stands, Aeroplex maintenance facilities, HungaroControl facilities, airport service buildings, and the Aeropark aviation museum situated on the airport perimeter.

Custom runway, taxiway and apron surfaces are built with detailed ground textures and PBR materials, while stand markings, aircraft-specific stop lines, pedestrian walkways, safety markings, parking boards and VDGS pylons contribute to a convincing operational environment. The airport layout is updated on an ongoing basis to reflect real-world changes at the site, and previous updates have already introduced expanded aprons, revised parking positions, updated taxiway designations and newly constructed buildings at no additional cost to existing owners.

Budapest Ferenc Liszt International Airport by LHSimulations is available now for Microsoft Flight Simulator 2020 and 2024. You can find the scenery and purchase it on the 🔗 Flightsim.to Store.
