Frankfurt am Main occupies a unique place in European aviation. Home to one of the continent's busiest international airports, the city is a frequent waypoint for virtual pilots flying transatlantic routes, European hops, and cargo operations alike. Yet despite its prominence in flight simulation, Frankfurt's iconic skyline — a dense cluster of glass towers rising dramatically above the River Main — has long deserved a more faithful representation than the default scenery provides. That gap is now addressed by Dfflyer Direct's Frankfurt Germany City Pack, available 👉 now on Flightsim.to for both Microsoft Flight Simulator 2020 and 2024.

Frankfurt earned its "Mainhattan" nickname for good reason. The city's financial district hosts the headquarters of the European Central Bank and dozens of major financial institutions, their towers forming a skyline unlike almost anywhere else in Germany. From the cockpit on approach to EDDF, or during a low-altitude sightseeing flight along the Main, that skyline is instantly recognisable — and it's precisely what this add-on sets out to recreate with accuracy and care. At the heart of the Frankfurt Germany City Pack are more than 200 handcrafted city buildings, each modelled individually to reflect the real structures that define Frankfurt's urban landscape.

Night flying around Frankfurt is a particular highlight. The pack includes true-to-life night lighting and signage across its buildings, which transforms the cityscape after dark into the kind of illuminated urban environment that makes low-altitude evening flights genuinely rewarding. The financial district towers lit against a dark sky deliver a visual impression closely matching what you'd see from an actual aircraft on approach.

Compatibility with World Update XVIII is confirmed. Performance has also been a clear consideration in development — the models are optimised to keep frame rates stable, which matters in a dense urban area where scenery complexity can otherwise take a significant toll on simulator performance.
